Rain and storm for Cpt

There's actually back to cooler weather and some rain forecast for Wed/Thu/Fri according to meteoblue which is pretty accurate. At least in this part of the South Peninsula.

The same one that's supposed to move over the central interior during winter I assume

There is some unseasonably late rain forecast for GP this weekend, and even this past weekend I was surprised by how many CB's were around

Several model runs show a cold-core upper-trough detaching from Wednesday's (weak) cold-front, and moving far into the interior of SA on Thursday and Friday. It will interact with sub-tropical moisture, producing much more rain than over Cape Town itself. This is consistent with the snow chart that I posted earlier.

Can confirm thunder. Nothing to write home about though.
 
Strange, warm northerly confirmed, overcast with sporadic sunshine but hardly threatening, barely feels like rain coming... showers predicted for late afternoon into early evening , we'll see.
 
Very bizarre weather. Some light spots of rain earlier here in Parklands but nothing substantial.
 
One short shower this morning, 3 mm, Vredekloof, CT. Heard the thunder but thought it was just a noisy truck on the N1.

First 'proper' rain of the season, with a brief deluge over Kenilworth. Streams running down the road, and puddles on the lawn! Definitely more than I expected (based on the forecasts). Emptied 19mm from our gauge at 3:30pm. Expecting more from another cold front tomorrow (Sun 29th).
 
Started raining much later than forecast past Fish Hoek, pelted down hard here, almost torrential for 20 minutes!... now it's completely abated!!
Completely unexpected that intensity.

We'll see what next few hours brings... and tomorrow.
 
Haven't been in the mood for winter this year but had a good rainy walk at the forest today that won me over a bit.
