13 mm measured in Vredekloof at 07:00 in the rain!

Did anyone from Fish Hoek south to Simonstown take an actual reading, because I'd be very surprised if less than 20mm fell around these parts, there where heavy downpours for large parts of yesterday, thunderous at times!

The rainfall overnight on Sun 4th produced good inflows into the dams in the Cape Metro catchments during Mon 5th. The latest figures (8am on Tues 6th) show an average of 85.4%, up 1.1% (since Monday). See: https://www.capetown.gov.za/Family ...and-sanitation-services/this-weeks-dam-levels
Theewaterskloof has reached 85% (tracking the average), with only Voelvlei being the laggard at 71%.

Long-range forecasts show another late-winter cold-front reaching the SW-Cape on Sat 17th, bringing light to moderate rain and rather cold conditions. Light snow will fall over a wide area of the mountains, extending into the Eastern Cape during Sun 18th:

City bowl is often warmer due to geographical effects and enclosed topology, certainly wasn't near that along False Bay coast.

Yup, weak cutoff-low, with coastal rain (and cold conditions) to the east of CT, becoming heavy tomorrow (Mon 19th), and extending all the way to Mpumalanga on Tues 20th:
