Rain and storm for Cpt

Well considering MeteoBlue for one, and the SAWS amongst others predicted a nearly continual 24-36 hr period of storm like weather and intense, lashing rain and near gale force winds since early hours of this morning I do hope it restarts soon!

It's taken a breather since midday...

Such a strange day.
Rain, stop, rain, stop etc.
Intense outbursts with calm in-between.

The problem is always the interpretation of the models. Prolonged showery rain was predicted, but many forecasts described this as continual rain, which is entirely different. Pretty stormy this evening!

Reminds me of the massive storm that did not happen back in June 2017... Much of a muchness about nothing much.

Seems us capetonians aren't used to a tiny bit of rain anymore.

What is that green spot in the Namakwaland? Is that right?

Yes, Kamieskroon area. This storm is very widespread, though the precipitation inland will be much less than the SW-Cape.

The 8pm satellite image (Wed 10th) shows the main front far east of Cape Town, but a large area of unsettled area to the west, that is likely to bring persistent showers (and snow) for at least 24 hours. This event is far from over:

Yoh. o_O

Lying here under the covers with only the sound of the rain absolutely pelting down in bucketloads, hammering the roof...

I imaginethis is what dear old Noah might have experienced for the 40 days and nights when the Great Flood was sent to destroy Humankind...

Definitely one of the bigger storms in a long time, wow, kept me up most of the night
