IN CT take a coat gloves etc umbrella with you at all times.
 
We read a total of 83.5mm in lower Claremont from 8am-ish from Thursday to Saturday. We need another 25mm to get to our 31 year May average of 147mm. March was our wettest ever (just) and April our driest ever (just, again).
 
My kid needs to get the daily high and low temperature data for the past 20 years for Cape Town for a school project. We've enquired with SA weather but no luck there. Any other resources we should be looking at?

The last few years have become a 'zombie' zone, with the SAWS being deliberately unhelpful. There are alternative sources, but they tend to be slightly older. A better option might be 20 years from 1990 to 2010 for example.

International bodies do store data, but it may take some work: https://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/temp-and-precip/global-maps/

Thanks - they didn't even bother to reply.

I found a service called Visual Crossing that charged R12 for the data.

Data should be 'free', but there's always a source for information, at a price...

P.S. I used to keep weather records as a kid, by looking at the daily newspapers for several years. Times have changed...

Yes and the source of that crap is the same heh!

We have had a lot of rain at Theewaterskloof, each week my rain catcher on my plot is sitting at around 70mm for 2 consecutive weeks.
I see Theewaters has recorded 167mm for this month which normally yields 48mm, and there's still more rain coming here on Monday :thumbsup:
