anywhere to check mm rainfall in Bellville?
Where can one buy those plastic rain meters?

- RED = 0- 500mm
- YELLOW = 501-1000mm
- GREEN = 1001-1500mm
- BLUE = 1501-2000mm
- PURPLE = > 2000mm

I stay in a cul-de-sac and it's a giant swimming pool. I think the house at the bottom end is at risk of being flooded.Edgemead drive a mess as usual.
Hmmm..The cheap plastic ones are available at any Garden Store. Seems the pole costs more than the gauge itself...

Highest include Kirstenbosch 41mm, CT Airport (WO) 19mm, Molteno Reservoir (CBD) 19mm, etc. Bellville Golf Course recorded 9mm.

I am a stone's throw away from that golf course and recorded 48.4mm thus far..
Had pretty much the same reading here in Boston when you posted this. Had another 17mm since - emptied a total of 60mm about 30 minutes ago.43mm in Bellville so far. Maybe we'll reach 50.
Brace yourselves, forecast for tomorrow same as today, with no abatement. In fact meant to continue to mid morning Wednesday, so it's only just started so to speak.
Certainly has set well in here in Glencairn, almost non stop although not pelting but constant rain since last night.
Temp has also dropped, but going to get a lot colder...
