RAIN LTE-A: Speedtests

Morning Guys.

Any ideas on what i could do to improve my connection. Im in the Goodwood area in Cape Town and the speeds have been really bad.Its gotten worse as i cant use my works VPN connection. Below is what ive been getting

Horrible speed on 5G unlimited today,

Ping: 26ms
Download: 1.78Mbps
Upload: 19.32Mbps

I usually get around 300 Mbps

:love: Got this Huawei H112-370 5G/4G router [KZN in a no FTTH town] over a month now. Never saw it break 82Mbps on rain. Low and behold, this morning before bed around 03:00am, finally the investment paid off. No external antennae. Auto settings. R250 package.

Hi @James

How many other devices do you have connected to your router normally and also how long have you been experiencing this issue? Could you please PM with this information and if you could add the email address that's linked to your rain account as well, that would help me assist you further with this issue.

My internet is practically unusable, I am lucky if I get 0.5mbs. Is this what they call a best effort service?
I am on the R479 package, I would expect at least to browse the internet, but even that is not possible.
I am absolutely gutted with the service i'm getting from rain.

Sorry for the rant but I just has to let my frustration out. RAIN please fix your network!

The equation is as follows :

3290/1024 = 3.212 Mb/s

It is still way better than what I get by far and i'm on the R479 package.
 
The Highest I got was 3.74Mb/s. On a good day I'll get around 1 - 1.50Mb/s, other than my connection is useless.

Been getting 0.0Mbps for the last week and a half now.
I emailed the support contact over a week ago and still have not heard anything.
I pm'ed @rain_mobile 2days ago who responded immediatley that someone would contact me ASAP, still waiting...
Somethings wrong with this tower I connect to and it has been since the lockdown began a nightly occurence which I tolerated, now it is all day everyday.
How many months do your technicians require to look into it?
