RAIN LTE-A: Speedtests

At least I can finish a speedtest now. JIPEE!!!!!

I am on RAIN LTE 4G R479.00pm Unlimited package. Meant to be capped at 10mbps but I get continual speed tests of 5mbps up 35mbps down and 21msec ping. Generally Email downloads OK, most websites open fine but you cannot watch Youtube at all. Those speeds dont make sense to me unless it is being massively shapped.

Are you getting this speeds consitently? Reason i ask is because im in the same area and im considering getting rain again until this fibre people decide they wanna come start here.

Yes I am getting this consistently no cap …

that’s why I decided I’ll get my rain sorted until eastridge gets fibre whenever

The last 2 days my internet speed has gone down the drain. From getting about 15-20Mbps I now get 1-2Mbps :crying:

I have rebooted the router several times but no luck.

RSRP -76
RSRQ -9
SINR 1

I've been getting stable 200+ Mbps since I got the Rain 5G in May last year but since a week ago, speed has been hovering around 40Mbps. What could cause this? I've tried resetting the router numerous times but nothing seems to be working. Rain support guys are just no help.. **sigh**

If this is normal then don't know what will be the normal. Rain LTE 4G R479.00pm Unlimited package.Seems very bad on 10Mbps. Wasn't expecting this to be that low.

Hi @rain_mobile
I am having intermittent issues with my Rain LTE since Sunday morning and I'm hoping you can help. It seems as if your network is blocking connection to some sites, eg I can load google.co.za but google.com times out.
Here is a traceroute which might be of use:

This is rather frustrating and the worst part it is an intermittent issue.

Please let me know if you need any more details to help investigate.
Thanks!

I don't understand how I'm being throttled. I'm starting to think I'm this list of peer-to-peer because my sim card only works fine between 23:00 and 05:00 then it's unusable. I'm using mobile data this instant. It's doesn't even reach 400kbps on a speedtest.
