Rain Mobile Feedback Thread

CD, before you cancel your Rain SIM's, would you be able to do a test and post your speeds of you bonding your Rain connection to your fibre connection? They'll both have different latencies, so I'd love to see how that would work...

I used Dispatch proxy which is not bonding but basically a proxy that distributes threads between my 2 connections.

Here is what I managed earlier today with Telkom 4G+ and Supersonic fibre 200Mbps line. Impressive. Downloads at 31MB/s :giggle:o_O

That's what I believe happened with the recent outage. Put 2 and 2 together...
Some towers ( like the 1 I connect to ) are now permanently..24x7...congested.

I think we will all be shocked if we see how many Vodacom users are on the Rain towers. Here where I live my S8 is permanently on 4G+ and when I go into service mode it's B3+B38 and I know that is Rain.

Just a question, I'm on Rain with A/H during peak and on the Rain mobile for the rest, and all of the various speedtest's give vastly different results.
I get that they are bouncing off different servers, but do they perhaps measure things differently? or is there another reason for the differences?

My rain tower ID matches the vodacom one exactly - so 2 networks fighting for capacity on one tower. Good thing Vodacom data prices so high.

Catch 22...not high enough for us on RAIN...too high for everyone else.

Indeed but if you consider stuff like just4you data bundles that include youtube, whatsapp, facebook ect then it can all add up but yes unless we are talking thousands of users I doubt they will bring the tower to it's knees. The R250 rain uncapped users are likely the main culprits.

I guess I am blessed that my Rain Fixed wireless and Rain Mobile both run at the same rates peak and off peak... No issues for me... I am always in the 50mbps + download and 25mbps +upload range :)

I'm trying so hard not to take advantage of this situation...it's just too difficult not to!!!!!! 20:39 Midrand still going
#Edit: Yes I keep checking my dashboard to make sure nothing is allocated to "peak hours"
