Please can someone who has used the Tymebank kiosk for a rain sim purchase explain the process for the benefit of the community. I plan to go to my local PNP this weekend and want to walk out with a working sim first time round. Also anyone know which PNP stores have rain sims or is it all stores listed on Tymebanks kiosk list?
At a guess only at pnps that have tymebank kiosks

Yes I agree that the PNP must have a Tymebank kiosk. My question though is will it be available at all PNPs with a Tymebank kiosk or only some of them.

Have you interacted with tymebank kiosks? They should all have the stock available, inside

I also read that there are personnel at these kiosks but nobody seems to have been assisted by one. The process is what confuses me. Do I fill in my details, provide rica docs and then out pops my sim after payment?

Just drove from the South Coast to King Shaka (no rain signal on lower level) and tried to use rain as a connection. However it's just not feasible. There are" no signal" gaps everywhere - even up to Gateway ridge.

So their current coverage makes it perfect for fixed mobile but not at all for a true mobile product. Strange that their coverage does not align with their business model.

Nothing in KZN then.

Guys, I'm getting DISMAL speeds since around the 30th of May.
Somerset West and Kuilsriver. Talking sub 1Mbps, can't even get Gmail to load at times.

Anything I can do to try and resolve this?

Same story in Hermanus. Used to be great but slow the past month.

You can try changing from 1800 to 2600 MHz, didn't work here.

I have reported it to support several times. They are absolutely useless. Frustrating to deal with. And there is no resolution other than feedback that:

Feedback from the networks departments, they advised that your device is connected to the closest tower available and it is highly utilized but normal now.

Also been getting fairly poor speeds randomly from them. (my tower signal is solid at -73 to -75 if the weather acts up)

I get 5bars 98% of the time. When speeds are good i normally get around the 45mbit to 55mbit range on download, and 12-22mbit upload.

Think they not taking new customers for that package then.

Maybe new price from 1 July, to new customers.

Would really like to know what this is about cos I planned to sign up before then. However, if the price changes come 1 July for all customers then it might be better to shop around.

Almost done with my first week and I can say that the service is decent, but not great. Speeds are bit lower than I was getting with Telkom, but Rain has severe slowdown in the evenings. I find this strange, as I assumed that no one but first week clients would use Rain in the evening due to costs.

That's assuming there is no change to the unlimited 19 hours offer at a price of R250 after June. Thats is not comfirmed yet.
Let's assume they increase the price to R300. Would there be a better option then?
