Afrihost (possibly other ISPs) seem cheaper than the Rain R50/Gig offer. They are also not contract-based. And you get subsidised modems.

I see, I need the fixed LTE as I have WiFi at work during the day.Different market. Rain Mobile is targeting mobile not fixed LTE.
You can buy your device outright to avoid that cancellation fee.You're effectively locked into one if you decide to cancel within six months of taking out a package. There's a R999 cancellation fee for the "month-to-month" contract.

Ah, but watch some of the South African mobile players milk the cost of data for 5G.Not sure if Rain is also going that route but 5G is going to be a game changer.. From what I read (and the rumours). 5G will be faster than 100mbit constantly. Even talks of over 300mbit true speed. Only time will tell
I wasn't aware of this limitation, is it the same with the other RAIN ISPs or just Afrihost?
