Rain Mobile Feedback Thread

rain mobile with unlimited off peak, allows WhatsApp text only during peak hours. No image, sound or video messages though. I have noticed this of late.
That is not the case for me. Once spend limit is reached, there is nothing during peak hours.

My router automatically switches the internet off at 18:00 and never set any automatic schedule to do such a thing. If I forget to switch the router off before 18:00 I have to manual switch the data connection to "on" when I switch the router in the morning.

FUP: Is anyone aware of any maximum amount of data that can be uploaded/downloaded on Rain for the unlimited option. T&Cs don't mention any. I use CrashPlan backup and will use a lot of data, as well as lots of streaming, so just thought I'd check if anyone has had any issues. Hardly any torrents and the occasional usenet download.

You get sms'ed at 1tb to remind you that it's a mobile product according to a previous user. That's about it as far as I know.

@cavedog Should i keep R250 on My Standard Bank virtual Credit Card? how much do i have to pay RAIN cause i turned off spend limit and turned on Unlimited Peak Time. will they automatically charge my Bank card ?

How do you pay the R250 every month ? Do you buy airtime then convert the R250 to data like other networks or do they debit you every month.

DO NOT TURN SPEND LIMIT OFF. Leave the spend limit on R250 even with uncapped add on. Then you will be uncapped. If you don't then between 6pm and 11pm you will get charged R50 per gig. They will charge your card R250 if you don't use any peak time usage or charge you are pro rata amount after the "free" days.

R16 of what? If you do not want to pay more for peak usage between 6pm and 11pm set it to R250. If you are in your first month the unlimited option is prorata so even if you set the spend limit to R250 there will still be a few rands that can be used dusing peak time before it reaches the R250 spend limit.

All the internet banking sites seem to work, when capped in the peak hours, as well as Rain.co.za. Incidentally I discovered today that basic whatsapp also continues working in these peak hours.

Just tried the now no banking sites working or whatsapp I use there DNS sever tried going to Google takes me to rain.co.za only have the 250 uncapped and use about 250 gig pm.
