Ramphele, DA confusion

Thought it was obvious. A deliberate and cynical attempt at tokenism. To put an acceptable 'black' face on the party. The hope is the masses are either shallow enough to simply vote DA because of the now 'acceptable' race of the candidate, in other words racist. Or dumb enough to believe she is there on merit based on shared principles.

Along with current DA supporters so blinded by their hatred of Zuma and anything ANC they'll accept/defend such sordid politicking under the guise of 'anything is better than Zuma"

Its not like there's many choices are there? Its ANC or DA and the rest you waste your vote if you where a DA supporter.

I dunno about a wasted vote but you're right there is a lack of choice or alternative.

What? How do you "waste" a vote?

If you are a DA supporter you will surely vote for them. Or am I missing something?

No...when the ANC was in power (2006-2009 I think), nothing was ever being improved and there were many, many corruption stories about Mfeketo, the ANC mayor. Do you really think we would have access to the Bus Rapid Transport System etc. if the ANC was in power? And would the ANC (if in power in the WC) be opposed to tolls in the Winelands region? No ways.

The DA are repelling that law, but yes, it was a nanny state law. No political party is perfect - and I'm not a fan of the nanny state - but it is at least better than what the ANC is offering.

Last I checked Gauteng is under ANC and we also got the BRT. We also got the Gautrain as well.

How long has it taken to get Jozi's BRT up and running, it's been a bloody shambles. And you forgot to mention E-Tolls, another brilliant ANC idea.

All I'll say is don't get your political opinons from MyBB threads.

Seems the Doctor has been told not to do it. Now she is backtracking......ANC politics 101

I hope she does. I would much rather have one of the DAs own rise through the ranks to the same position. Shoving her in there doesn't seem to go down well.

Ja, seems like they might have jumped the gun on this one. If this lady backtracks then I will have to agree with you guys that she is not to be touched with a barge pole. Bit of bad news for the DA, but they will slog on. I still think that they are going to do well in this election regardless.

EFF the third largest in SA....Hmm, im not so sure, but it would not be surprising, judging from the noise it is making and the attention it is getting.

I am expecting it to run out of money....Cope had some money issues after elections '09 and Agang was said to be having money issues, not long from now...
