Rapidshare updates to Rapids

Mine too - and got the same email to say I had been converted to a rapid medium.

BUT: Your data does not carry over - ie. I had 2.5GB left for yesterday - poof, gone!
 
Yip, lost my data from previous day as well.
Got bumped to a RapidBig account before midnight GMT and it's all gone as I specified the next day should be RapidSmall account. I've got no choice, but to use the system as I've got 2000 odd rapid points, but we'll see how it works out. Pity if it doesn't, I've got a great collection of reliable dedicated rapidshare link sites.
 
Yep, I was right. If you dont use your cap for the day, you lose it. What bothers me as well is the "Automatic" upgrade once you hit your cap. Exactly the kind of thing I was expecting and noted above about RS bargaining on people not downgrading their account next day. RS is taking people for a ride now.

yeah, I've been using RS for a number of years. I'll have to dig into which premium file sharing site will be best for my needs before I sign up with just anyone.

Yup, agreed. We'll all need to rebuild our link site favourites again.

I like Hotfile because files stay on much longer than rapidshare, is used by alot people (next to MegaUpoad / Uploading) and have very straight forward subscription model. Whenever a supplier with starts with gimmicks and funny packages, you are gauranteed to be screwed.

Speeds out of Hotfile compared to RS?
 
I heard since RS changed the points system, most uploaders don't have incentive to upload - so they aren't going to upload anymore...

so who's the best then? it's either Hotfile, Megaupload, Uploading or Filematrix....

No idea, from what I see on the web, it supposedly slower than RS. But, I think its international users with actuall broadband.

The best would probably to get a little test account for each site and then decide from there. (Apart from getting new link sites)
 
Alot of places have muti linking. scenereleases, katzforum etc etc. Google is you friend :)

we don't want that - we need a place that ONLY links to one provider, eg. Hotfile.


like I said - for those that use RapidOrg, try searching around for evildrome - not bad and almost all links are hotfile
 
not happy with this rapids,looks like it will work out a lot more expensive, weekends i get more than i would during the week, too much of a big difference between 5gb to 20gb, why is there no 10gb, when my rapids run out i am jumping ship
 
I have been chatting on some international forums about this looks like loads of people are cancilling there RS accounts and moving to netload.in. Some hotfile and megaupload but I am hearing netload.in alot

Its actually amazing that people use rapidshare at all

I mean Netload HF and MU all have unlimited downloads where RS doesn't
 
No no no no, this is definitely not going to work out for me. A little before their next day cut off (02h00 for us) I reached the Large account status. As someone already pointed out, it auto increases my account and then at 02h00 in the morning it activates my account for another day, another 78 points taken off. It's horse ****. I'm signing up with HF now, I'm not even bothering waiting to finish my RS points. I'll keep my account on small until I can't find what I need on HF and use the RS account for stuff like that until it's finished. This system sucks a lot!!!!!!!!
