Rapidshare updates to Rapids

2 rapids a gig is al cheapo based on monthly fee
 
I think I'll stick with Hotfile for now. Didn't use RS for some time now, but was considering an account again. After reading this, definitely holding back.

damnit - bought a hotfile account, 1 full years worth - ran at 250KB/s max. no stopping in FreeDownloadManager I'm afraid..... WTF?

Went and bought another Rapidshare account - 2000 points worth. happy again, just need to figure out how to stop it leaking points faster than the bp oil spill


just thought i'd tell you guys hotfile is not all it's cracked up to be, RS still rocks for now...
 
Is the 250kb as a result of shaping or genuine maxed speed?

I am still happy with RS
 
Maybe a bit off-topic, but on which network provider - i could max at 5Mbps on MTN from RS
 
Haven't tried rapidshare, but I'm amazed more people don't try MegaUpload. I ALWAYS max my line speed and the downloads are unlimited :)
 
Hope you guys also realise that rapidshare has automated the extension of accounts that reach end of life. Under rapidshare account settings I've remove the ticks from the 2 automated account and rapids extension boxes. They've always had no respect for their paying customers. I'm out after the 7 days my account has left. Really not that desperate to live with the rapidshare Hitler mentality.

It's only extended using the rapids you already have, if you don't have enough rapids your account is not extended.

I just downloaded a few files via hotmail and got full line speed (420KB/s) using Jdownloader. Was very surprised. thought the seacom thing will not allow that.

can you pause and resume using jdownloader? cause on FDM you can't at all....

and I assume you are talking about hotfile hehe...
 
The new system doesn't seem that bad as long as they keep the happy hour system. I'm setting my IDM queue to start at 02h05. Downloaded 30Gigs over the last week and have only used 3GB of traffic on RS.

Couldn't agree more - working a treat for me currently.
 
Sorry but for the price Hotfile is now the champion... 0 restrictions and most of the link sites are moving from RS anyhow. Will miss it, RS was my baby for years.

what hosts have you guys gone for PREMIUM since this change?

I am thinking of another, but since I am already with RS and MU I don't want to go for some1 that is only "here and there".

I have noticed a lot of people now start using Sharingmatrix and ofc Hotfile (had a Premium with them too).
the odds here and there are ones like Depositfiles and Filefactory, but where I go I hardly ever see those.
