1TB/month is a minimum of 385KB/s all day, every day.![]()
How much would that cost a low tier (asuumed) ISP then?

Ok but you're comparing uncapped and capped bundles now.
Afrihost is R400 for 4Mb uncapped, and R700 for 4mb uncapped + line rental - that's not 50 bucks mate that's R300 more (almost 50% of the cost)
I can understand and ISP charging me R100 for 1mb line rental when I bundle it with them - a nice R65 discount.
But R25 for line rental? They have to get a massive deal at telkom, and for a new ISP that is highly unlikely.
I'm guessing the data part is heavily subsidizing the telkom line rental and therefore probably has a poor contention ratio (Just a guess)
But like I said, I could be wrong about all this - where is the feedback from our MyBB testers? Anyone tried it so far?
Yep, my comparison was flawed.
I offer myself as a guinea pig for testing this account...
/We shape Http downloads, NTTP and Peer to Peer since these are the "offending" ones.
We shape to 3/4 during 07:00 and 19:00 weekdays
Our system (via our upstream provider) monitors usage on a 10 calendar day rolling period. Should your account be identified as the highest usage account in your group, throttling will set in.
As mentioned above, the "usual suspects" being Http, NNTP and Peer to Peer is throttled.
As much as it pains me to say this, reduce your downloads.
While virtually everything I've said above seems like it is taken from a "Text book for ISP's in South Africa" it sadly is still the state of affairs of internet access in South Africa. I hear the frustrating muttering in the office indicating that we (even the bosses) hate shaping / throttling just as much as our users do and continuously fight to have this evil removed. Unfortunately, this is a battle that will continue for an undetermined amount of time. We intend to live our slogan "Internet as it's meant to be!" and keep fighting for true uncapped internet or at least affordable true uncapped and unshaped internet access. We are after all, consumers just as you are and would love the same services you want
Guys this is the beauty of the free market system, you have the choice to choose what ever ISP you would like. We are not forcing you to take our products we are just giving you another option, if you take it or not is all up to you. If you are happy with your current ISP then don't switch easy as that.
Assuming you're a registered dealer, you do know comparative advertising is illegal?@Fudzy if you look closely you will see the following:
1. Openweb does not offer the Managed Line DSL where your Telkom DSL line rental is included in the fee (Telkom 4Mb rental = R 425)
2. Razoweb includes the above charge
3. Openweb Gold is a high priority line yes, so is the Razoweb line, however you will be running on MTN Business backbone which these days is more stable that the rest.
to conclude openweb package:
4Mb + Line = 649 + 425.
Razoweb
4mb + line = 690 (minus 5% if you go through me)

@YingYang
Comparative advertising is allowed when set in parameters, but we, the business, made no comparison it was made by a customer.
Yes but what you are doing is making unfair comparisons to Openwebs accounts hoping to steal customers away.
Why not just be honest about the product and post a clear indication of what the product is.
Contention Ratio
Shaping hours
What protocols are unshaped
The exact throttling values
minimum guaranteed line speed
On another note, Openweb gave me a 5 day account with unlimited use to test, are you going to offer the same or are you sticking to this silly 1GB/1 Day account? Please post a working link to your AUP.
Shaping hours and shaping protocal already specified. We can not guarantee line speed that is just the way Internet is in SA and our contention ratio I have phoned our upstream supplier and they will get back to me.
So no unshaping of gaming protocols?
