*READ FIRST* iBurst Network Status & Issues (DNS, Throughput and Latency)

Is iBurst down in the Northriding Randburg area? I'm connected and got an IP but no traffic succeeds to go out since this afternoon.

Problem: A lot of timeouts and connection errors, especially with secure connections. Started a couple of weeks ago.

Details:
Connecting to a secure website (with HTTPS), Firefox (latest version) gives me errors e.g. SEC_ERROR_OCSP_SERVER_ERROR and SEC_ERROR_IO errors, which (according to some Google searches) could mean "that an intermediate device, such as a router or a firewall, is blocking TCP port 443 requests to the server" when connecting to the OCSP server... However, I have no firewalls running on one machine and the iBurst modem is directly connected via USB (i.e. no router). However, two seconds later, it works correctly. This includes Facebook, Google and even my bank.

Sending an e-mail using GMail's SMTP server over SSL, larger than ~500kb, Thunderbird (latest version) gives me SSL_ERROR_BAD_MAC_ALERT or it just Times Out.

The reason I suspect iBurst is 2 seperate computers give me the same problems running different operating systems and iBurst has been having problems in the East Rand for quite some time now. Oh, and I have NONE of these problems using MTN.

I will gladly provide further information if required, but please investigate.

This problem has reared its ugly head again :( Now happening with even smaller e-mails...
 
Had some massive latency issues with BF3 on the IGame servers. 150+ ping and rubberbanding with a new 2mb modem. Switched back to my old 1mb and it works perfectly. Getting max 53 ping and no rubberbanding.
 
My modem does not want to connect at all, I dont see anyone else here with this issue or any thing on the iBurst site. So I am guessing its just me.

Can someone please look into this for me?

I can't load my broadband, and webpages keep timing out. From my cellphone here at the moment, opera mini.


EDIT: Using my Phone as a modem, my PC's web connection is fine, so definitely something wrong on the iBurst side.

Yup please sort this out dudes, I need the internet to make a living.

My modem is back to "connecting" and its not doing anything when i plug it into my pc i get told username or password incorrect, how about some info on what is going on here please.

Using my phone to post is not fun.

For all the people who hate the call center, they got it sorted out for me in 5 minutes...

Something about my utid's getting unlinked from my account, this is only the second time this has happened now....

Its already fixed r00i, thanks anyway.

I got someone at the call center to remove all the utid's from my account and add them again, all seems to be fine again.

I am just confused about why it keep unlinking my modems from my account?
One of the modems was also listed twice.
 
Weltevrden Park - since about 7pm most sites, local and international are inaccessible. Keep getting time out errors. Just lucky to have had this site stay up while I post this.

Same in Brackendowns, Alberton... Connection reset.

Took me a while to get this page. What are the chances that someone who can do something about it, is awake this time of the weekend?

EDIT: Phoned support - apparently there is something up in the JHB area. iBurst engineers are aware of the problem and are working on it.

Same here, switched off modem for awhile and reconnected again. Hopefully it will stay alive for the midnight downloads.

Must be the rain/bad weather.

iBurst is down in my area too, just bought an ipad 2 plugged it into my pc to update it and the internet stops working at that exact moment, great timing guys.

Really cool!

This month has been a nightmare so far with modems being unlinked from accounts, full days with no working internet.. it is no fun.

Same problem as last night, it seems. Connections timing out or just resetting.

Yup, month not going quite well.
 
Using a proxy to access the web atm.

Pta east. Started with pages not loading and then 718 error when trying to connect.
