*READ FIRST* iBurst Network Status & Issues (DNS, Throughput and Latency)

3 times today ive dc'd last time a minute ago... on linkfield tower. Playing Eveonline... you dont want dc with escalated sleeper battleships

FFS!!!

Still timing out on all websites except iburst.co.za. Took me 20 minutes to post this!!! Please fix whatever's going on as this is just plain ridiculous. I'm in the PTA East area. Speeds are up to S*&%t as well.:mad:

Same here.
Signal sitting at between 96 and 100% constantly but lucky if I can open some websites and nevermind trying to stream a Youtube vid.

Speedtest results suck as well even at night after 12, lucky if it gets over 1Mbps.
Been like this for 2 weeks already and it makes surfing the net tedious and a pain.

OK, this is getting pretty irritating now.

What the signal is like:

Yes, 100% signal. Sometimes it drops to 92%, but most of the time it sits neatly at 100%.

But:

In the not so distant past, I would regularly get over 2Mbps at this time of night, but in the last 2 weeks the speed has dropped to a degree where some websites do not even open.

Come on iBurst, at least tell us what the problem is.

What technical issues are there?
Who broke what?
But more importantly, can we have the speed we actually pay for?

Had huge amount of time outs this evening (20:15), locally and internationally, only MWEB would partially load. Eventually disconnected and redialed, and that seemed to help.

Since last night i couldnt open any webpage whatsoever. I'm able to browse now using googles DNS servers.

I'm curious is this a general Iburst network issue or has it got something to do with the tech behind the new uncapped accounts, can anybody confirm that this is also happening to them on the regular capped accounts on the @iburst.co.za realm?

yes even my @iburst.co.za user is busted.

Ok, so I have a theory. Is it possible that the sudden influx of 2MB modems on the network, might be at the root of the poor network performance of late? Maybe the network just cant handle the double data rate of all those new 2MB modems? This might explain why the reps on here have been very quiet lately. It would be very embarrassing for Iburst if this is the case.

Also add the spike in subscriptions since the new deals came out. My guess is the wireless last mile is taking strain, from all the added subscriptions and additional bandwidth existing customers have these days.

sounds very very good explanation there, everything was sort of okay until the new package arrive

Ok here is the thing, all my international latency has gone for a ball of **** since the new deals arrived. A iBurst tech also pointed out to me that my basestation is also under much greater load all of a sudden god knows why and I have noticed this between 6-10 PM during the evenings. For me it seems there is not enough capacity to coup with the demand lately and the network feels congested. I am currently unhappy with the throughput and latency I am getting during the evening it has dropped enough for me to notice, its just way too spiky and this has only happened since begining of last month. It wasnt like this 6 months ago.

Also iBurst reprenstation on this forum has been lacking for months now, especially on the technical side of things.I seen this too and I am not happy about it.
