*READ FIRST* iBurst Network Status & Issues (DNS, Throughput and Latency)

CAPE TOWN - Cant Access UCT.AC.ZA websites

I need these sites to work, ASAP!

Through Opera Mini, sites work fine, and I can access the sites through an international proxy.

But Directly through iburst does not work.

please fix, thanks.
 
Everything from uct.ac.za to Vula and the library site is working fine for me on DSL.

Have you tried with a different browser?
 
I can't get to UCT either, it's a problem when you have to sort out a server problem that you know you can do remotely, but you have to get in your car and drive there.... I will be sending iburst a bill for my petrol :D
 
Can you ping the domain?

Good be a dns or routing issue, try setting your dns to 8.8.8.8
 
I tested to see if the UCT sites worked, using Opera Mini (3G, going through Opera's proxy servers) which it does.

I tested them through an anonymous proxy: mycroc.com, and they work. (but i don't trust logging in to Vula through an anonymous proxy)

Firefox, IE and Opera don't work. This is obviously an iBurst issue, and the fact that Lydon has access through DSL and I can through 3G, proves this point.

No I personally am not, but my neighbour is, and he could access UCT at 3pm, but not now...

So it's definitely a problem on Iburst's side
 
Can access right now, iBurst Wireless. (from JHB).
Tracert is also fine.

It is still possible to have limited access for no reason.
Try to switch off modem and put it on back. (changes IP)

Just checked this morning again, and I still can access any of my machines at UCT, I know we had the same problem near the end of last year sometime.

And then it dies.

just did a test from my neighbors telkom adsl... and that works.
 
It's still not working for me either, have tried http, https and ssh. I've sent an email to TENET.
 
Please can you test if this is still a problem.
