*READ FIRST* iBurst Network Status & Issues (DNS, Throughput and Latency)

iBurst seems down country-wide. Their call centre is down too. This might be the last straw that breaks their backs, but you never know.

I don't mean to be rude....no wait, I do.... maybe it's a blessing in disguise. :wtf:

*sigh*....what to do now......problem is, the Vodacom and MTN backup failed, so I initially thought it was the core 'soft' router, but I see now, some other strange signal strength problems on the 3g sticks........*sigh*

Going to Cell-C is like hopping out of the life boat into the jaws of a shark. Cell C's been down for me for a month or more. It's hard to make iBurst look good, but boy did Cell C manage that!

:wtf:

Anyone know any good uses for the old iBurst UTDs then? Can they be hacked into something useful?

I don't know about country-wide (...yet, maybe others can confirm for their areas) but general Midrand, west-rand around Westgate and Greenside are affected. And that's before you get into the lack of site and phone action.

I'm at work, so I can't say if the Brackenhurst tower is affected.

Judging by twitter the outage is national, including their website and call centre. Our business WDSL is also down, so it's not just consumer services.

Is there anyone on this forum directly involved with iBurst that would be able to give more detailed information regarding the outage experienced by iBurst customers nationally, as well as an ETR?

Some guy on twitter said he'd spoken to a technician at iBurst and they were experiencing a "power outage".

Surely someone on MyBB must know someone at iBurst. Shocking that they communicate so badly.

3+ hrs later someone at @iBurst has tweeted:

"We are experiencing connectivity issues in one of our main data centres."

and then

"Our technicians are working on restoring services as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience."

Wow. That clears it up then.

Is it 1 month notice to cancel? We don't have a 2 year contract thing.....

I am connected through iburst now, pinelands cape town seems to be up and running again

ps. it was down here for most of the morning.

Tokai anyone? It went down just before midday. I still can't get on, have reset routers and the desktop modem.

connecting with Cell C at the moment.

Last update via the iBurst Twitter account,https://twitter.com/iBurst, stated the following regarding an ETR: "we are working on this and hope to have some services restored by this evening"

It seems that the issue is a national issue, thus all subscribers to a certain degree would be influenced. I heard reports that WDSL and some Metrolink clients are also influenced by this issue. Also iBurst's VoIP platform, on which their 087 number is hosted is also down and quoting twitter, they can be contacted on 0861 428 778 (0861 iburst)

Hoping for the best.
