*READ FIRST* iBurst Network Status & Issues (DNS, Throughput and Latency)

Hi bdt, can you please tell me what email address you forwarded this info to?

Hey iBurst (official rep), I've sent you PM for a tech query that's apparently too much for your "support" line to field, could you check it and get this ball rolling please? TIA.

Hi bdt, can you please supply us with a contact number & username or account number so we look into your query?

Ah, maybe that's where we're missing each other: I've been using PM right here on the forum and from your input I can only infer that you're expecting email, that I have not (yet) used ..should I rather (re)re-send the relevant info to the one shown on your profile - the bubblesmegabyte one?

Well dang, gobs of rain notwithstanding, it looks like I utterly and completely wasted my time on trying to get, you know, "support" from this crowd of yahoos. So much for trying (ever so hard) to not just give into the quite deserved cynicism and give them a chance. Idiots.

Hi bdt, I have not receieved any PM from you or an email on [email protected]
Can you please give us some info so we can help you
Okay, then you have a ghost in your system as someone - apparently you - replied to my initial PM for help with the expected 'give info' ...that you now say you never got. So, as this channel has some sort of a curse or a hex on it, I'll copy everything and send it through email instead. Maybe I'll even get somewhere before xmas.

Edit : Nevermind. 10mins after this post the connection stabilized.

Im on a capped wireless product and after calling iBurst, they apparently shape everything, since when is this the policy, i am paying for a capped product and you shaping me ? Wtf your company is a load of ****, glad i am leaving you on Monday :D

After quite some time (many months, in fact) iBurst is up to its old tricks again. Horrendously slow speeds, pages timing out, connections reset... What gives?

Area: Brackenhurst

Relax, put your feet up, it's going to be a while. Seacom is down.

Hi boyequal, we are not experincing any issues in the Brackenhurst area. Can you give me some contact details so I can investigate further.

High pings, pages timing out today.

Any issues with iBurst in the south of JHB? (Forest Hill Tower)

Hi MadHawk

We are busy investigating & will give you an update as soon as we have some feedback

I've had on and off again horrible speeds from iburst in the Wilgeheuwel area. Last suggestion was to send someone over to try sell me an aerial and antenna to get a steady 1.2mbs when I had that before anyway.

Yep same story next door Weltevreden park.
Don't see the point of an external Antenna to get speeds we used to get before with out one.
ANd I'm stuck with iburst since Telkom has to upgrade Infrastructure before i can get ADSL installed :(

They really are trying to off load these antennas. I've also been suffering with severe speed fluctuations since last Monday. When I spoke to them they said its because the schools started and businesses are back to normal, so the network is congested.

For others suffering with this problem, I'd think twice before buying an antenna; essentially Iburst is making you pay for the fact that their base stations can't handle the loads, meaning they failing to provide the service they said they would when you signed your contract with them. If additional equipment (more money) is needed to maintain the level of connection that they sell the contracts under, then they should have included it in the initial pricing. They are simply passing the bill.

Anyone else experiencing total outage of iBurst (Randburg/Northriding area's)? modem showing no signal at all and iBurst website not resolving (connecting on tablet via 3G)

Yep

Exact same issue, red modem light and iBurst's site also not working.
At least now I know its not just me, thought I might have had my modem die.

But seriously, WTF iBurst?

I wonder if icasa stole some more iburst hardware? haha
