Here is my test to rapidshare: http://rapidshare.com/files/358636009/rs.jpg.html

Only available for 10 downloads...

will try this when I get home later.

The tower seems fine (I'm also using it), but maybe crapidshare shapes the traffic for free users

dont think so. been downloading with rapidshare for the past two months and got 7kbps constant speeds while capped.

Is that rapidshare.com or rapidshare.co.za? A good tool to monitor your speed is http://www.trvx.com/itrafficmonitor/

rapidshare.com. didnt know that there was a .co.za. will try the tool and see what happens.

In theory I shouldn't be posting this......

EDIT: oh and as for bidorbuy, I can browse the site... the minute I try and log in it times out...... so http://www.bidorbuy.co.za/jsp/my/MyMain.jsp works... and https://www.bidorbuy.co.za/jsp/login/UserLogin.jsp doesn't... all that changed is http to https

Apologies for the inconvenience. Cape Town experience an upstream peering issue which is being resolved.
Things are bad this morning, I can't get gmail and I can't even connect to my work email (hosted in Cape Town).
Last night I got my fastest ever iBurst speed test result, 993kbps, but I don't seem to get that doing anything else.
You have PM with my UTID.

So my problems started last night at about 12am, I was happily playing STO and then nothing, I did make a trace route and saved it as a draft in my gmail.... it was an interesting one.... it kept looping between the same 2 ip addresses. I would post it, but as the title says... no international

Now we get to this morning.... still no google.... but I can get to other websites

when is this going o be fixed?

From website:
"Problems and general queries
Phone our general call centre on 0877 20 72 00 (free from your iCall™ phone) or email us at [email protected] any time – 24/7/365."

24/7/365.... they there's a laugh....... I've been on the phone for 30 minutes now... and no answer.... you should fire your current helpdesk staff as they seem to be sleeping on the job... and you can't tell me they are busy at 06h46 in the morning

Anything to do with the iBurst 'helpdesk' is a nightmare. It's more fun phoning a government department. I once held on for 45 mins on a Friday afternoon before eventually giving up - and that was for their Sales dept! Am genuinely surprised the company is still around.

Yeah their helpdesk does take ages to get through :(. Though I am aware they did move their call centre somewhere else.

Im fortunate to be very close to my tower, so I get 100% signal strength and good QoS. My ingame latencies are just as good as on ADSL.

I have 100% signal as well, but downloads have been a huge frustration for ages. Sometimes they sail through, other times, three hours for a 100 MB file.

Use MetaProducts Download Express as often as possible, but sometimes the standard IE 'Save File' is the only option at times. For some reason, Firefox sometimes is a little quicker.

Apologies, I haven't been on the forums today and only logged in now. Cape Town had an issue this morning with one of the redundant links. The redundant links confused themselves and required one of the engineers to rectify the situation. Apologies for the inconvenience - we are monitoring the situation.

International connectivity is down since last night. I can only get max of 3KB/sec for int'l sites but local sites download at full speed (100KB/sec). Something is wrong with iBurst's international link.

Most the towers in Kempton are on load 3, hazman what area in Kempton are you in?
there are 1-2 towers with min load just depends where you are to connect to them.
I had to get a 3m mast installed to get back to the original signal I was getting last year.
