*READ FIRST* iBurst Network Status & Issues (DNS, Throughput and Latency)

WoW latency is still not fine, at about 3000ms which makes it unplayable, any body else still having issues?

Aye bad lag in WoW since international went down :(

I'm going to assume that we are in actual fact on failover if I've judged r00igev@@r's post correctly, so I wouldn't expect it to be fantastic.

Apologies for the international incident this morning. The SEA-ME-WE-3 cable experienced and outage 5 clicks off Alexandria in Egypt. This resulted in an outage on the east coast route. Our systems are configured to automatically fail-over and pick up traffic on the west coast. However, the cable operator placed a loop on the east coast cable which created a problem with our fail-over.
We dispatched a techie to London Telehouse to resolve the loop.
Going forward we will implement G.8032 to prevent loops from cable operators causing problems.

So instead of things going back forth they are now going round the block first and stopping for a bit of rest? which is why my music stream stutters every 3 seconds :erm:

Well it's impossible to play Guild Wars all day, constant disconnects, lag/ping is terrible!

How about:
http://www.dstv.com/u2/ this goes via JINX and should be ok!

Is there still a problem with the cable because since yesterday downloading is really slow?

wasnt even worth the effort playing xbox live this weekend. not to mention scanning for new content in xbmc. was getting from 400bytes to 8KB/s on average lol

oh?! there goes another gig of wasted bandwidth on a wasted download (twice). eish!
i guess that is one way of using up all of the rollover bandwidth i`m stuck with. it is so bad that flashget cant even reconnect to it.

another weekend of very poor service from i`m bust. well folks, seeing that this is a more than regular occurrence, i`m really questioning their standard operating procedures. us having to give them the sites we cant access. ??

man, if only i still had my dial-up!!

poor show chaps, poor show! (not you fault rooi)

just get IDM (Internet downloading manager) lets u download flash videos and has a resume feature for all your Iburst needs. Used it a lot last year with the FREE downloads after midnight

Is it possible to get an rss feed from your iburstnotice twitter account and make a board for it like that do with the Telkom ADSL maintenance notifications?

Should save alot of work from editing it in two places. Dont know if rpm knows if this is possible?

guys im still crawling here in the East Rand how long are these 56k modem speed gonna last???

thanks for the advice wolfy, lol 56k speed right now would be very generous, i`m putting along at a blistering +-9 a sec. :wtf:

i wonder if i switch back to dialup would i now get the full 12kb/s which would prolly be faster than the constant 8kb/s download speed i'm currently getting. man this is a joke

when can we expect the speed to be back to normal?

We have added extra routes and will bring them up during the couse of the evening. International latecies should stablize.
