And once again my Furk downloads won't resume, I am gonna lay a complaint with the CPA as soon as they are up and running, what a rip off, can I please have a refund for Feb and Jan fees? I am also paying Furk which I can't use, can I also have a refund for thar I-Burst?!

Why are you blocking furk.net??!?!?!? Please don't tell me that you are not, I am tired of losing my downloads 90% of the way through, please get it sorted so that I can complete my bloody downloads!!!!!!!!!!!

you actually getting more than 10kb/s anyway?
i've been downloding a 150mb file for the past 4 hours
We have added extra routes and will bring them up during the couse of the evening. International latecies should stablize.
when does evening become night? 00:15 in the morning now man.

Thats it today i am applying for adsl at least i will be able to change isp's that cant provide a service. Luckilywe are on month to month. I will personally stop my iburst debit order at the bank and god help Iburst if they try debiit it again or send me a lawyers letter. Cheers Iburst

Never understand why people who can get DSL choose iburst. Here's a nice benchmark for you to start at, I'm sure you can get a better deal:

Cybersmart 512K (iBurst rarely goes faster than that) line including line rental: R529 for 15GB unshaped and free downloads between 1:30am to 6am.

...384K would be better...

Day 4... Still the same 28.8K-56k downloading speeds... -face palm- im sure your own engineers are BS you seeing we cant do **** for the last 4 days now with promises saying its been fixed! You guys must just have 2 engineers or something seeing everything that gets done around here is at a slug like pace anyways.. Just like the call centre's being non existent too seeing nobody wants to receive my call

Agreed, a bunch of friggin as$holes. The downloads finally started but going at like 2-8 kbps.... WTF AM I paying you as$holes for?!?!?!?! After months of double billing, triple billing, rude service, non responses, cr@p connectivity I think the CPA will definitly be interested in my case, as soon as my contract is up in July, ADSL here I come but also CPA here I come because this is a matter of principle I am going to take this all the way. You treat your customers like cr@p and could'nt give a sh*t if they are complaining or unhappy. Just ignore their statements and give a jack @$$ standard (lying) response to every problem. I-Burst apparently are never to blame for anything... TYPICAL of Cr@p-Burst.

Sorry but you cant solely blame iBurst on this. Ronald is trying his demn hardest to resolve the bandwidth and latency issues with the upstream provider due to the Fibre break in Egypt. I been in contact with him all evening last night.

If you follow iBurstNotices on twitter you will see that they are still trying to allocate more routes from their upstream provider to overcome the issue with the Fibre break in Egypt. They are still waiting for the upstream provider to do this at the moment.

Hopefully their upstream will have it all sorted today.

Sorry but I can blame I-Burst and rightfully so. The reasons are that they made their business/management decision to use these upstream providers and not to have a proper fail over backup plan in motion. They don't respond to their member base. Even their website has not been updated to state they are having issues after 4-5 days of poor connetivity. I have been checking Twitter and 2 notices in 10 hours which don't give an ETA to resolve the issue, are pointless!

Ronald does not represent the entire company and though he works damn hard to get things done and is extremely helpful in almost all cases, he does not represent iBurst in its entirety, The reason why there is such a major problem with speed at the moment is because of bad planning and poor managerial decisions. If this is not so, why haven't the other ISP's been so adversely affected by this fault?

Anyway, my DL speed is up to around 50kb/s so i'm more-or-less happy. much appreciated to all those who worked on it, sucks to the idiots who failed to plan for it.

had horrible connection issues last night....
signal strength was between 20-60% where it normally sits at 100%. No access to international sites, and local sites were choppy at best. Havent checked this morning as I decided to disconnect and save some electricity instead.

Langenhovenpark Bloemfontein.

I would love to see Iburst being taken to task for their devious, dishonest, disdainful customer treatment and for inept management leading to incompetent administration. Been with them since Dec 2004 and have seen the sad decline, especially in past 3 years. I recommended many people to them in early years but now advise them to stay well clear.

International latency issues

The SEA-ME-WE-3 cable experienced a break 5 clicks off Alexandria in Egypt. As a result our east coast route is out of commission while a ship is mobilized to repair the cable.
Our west coast route was taking all our international traffic and although we have extra capacity on order to be delivered by March we have obtained extra routes via a third party to fill the gap. In the future we will have sufficient capacity for full path protection.
Apologies for the inconvenience. As there are more routes there may be some propagation problems. If you have connectivity issues please post specific details about the problems to assist in resolving and quicker troubleshooting.
