*READ FIRST* iBurst Network Status & Issues (DNS, Throughput and Latency)

Ronald, any response.... Anytime? I still can't resume my downloads, small or large from Furk, I have a paid membership there and lost another week. This is unacceptable.... You guys are definitly blocking these downloads and need to either admit it or fix it!

Not that I'm disputing your claim, and I can understand your frustration, as I have more often than not sat with a 15 kbps download speed, which has made me give up on trying to download anything bigger than 300MB, but just a question: what would iBurst's motive be in blocking your downloads?

Aint Furk a torrent? You do know that iBurst does shape torrents/p2p?

Furk.net is not a p2p or a torrent site. It is direct downloads of torrents that they predownload for you. This is why they would block or shape this service. However, it is not torrents as such as you don't seed. Also, I don't mind shaping as much as blocking.... Shaping means it is slow and still doable, blocking means I can't get sh*t downloaded.

Last night I downloaded 2GBs from Hotfile.com. (Premium account)

Full speeds, no disconnects.

So I don't know why iBurst would block Furk.net and not Hotfile.

Just saying.

Prove it.

i still think the issue is with Furk, possible IP problem, iburst IP is most likely associated as spam bot or information harvester and Furk is blocking it. (if you did a bit of forum surfing you could see this issue has been raised previously and is therefore a likely cause of your problems) Why would iburst servers allow 48% to go through and then cancel it, as i said before, the ISP would not cancel something halfway through, it's usually the contacted server that dissolves a connection.

I have personally had no issues with using furk (non-premium) downloading 100-200mb files, it is therefore unlikely that iBurst has 'blocked' access to Furk.net. Which would in essence be illegal (access to information, illegal censorship etc.) there are several ways to try test this, including IP changers and proxies, google your IP.
This seems to be an issue only you are dealing with as Furk is not necessarily a very popular download site compared to megaupload or rapidshare that is not surprising. do some tests and try figure out a bit more information on your own issue.

Well maybe if you replied like 4 days ago asking for this information I would've given it to you, not a week later.... But anyways, I am used to this kind of service from I-Burst. Living out my last couple of months with your company and CAN NOT wait to move to Cybersmart in July. I was with Cybersmart for years prior to joining I-Burst and my parents are still using them today, what a PLEASURE to deal with they are!

Modem type USB I-Burst modem, OS is Windows 7, suburb is Northriding, Randburg, I always have "100%" signal with I-Burst.

Also, speed is NOT really the issue, it's the downloads that are, again last night I was downloading a file on Furk, this time an 800 MB file, it got to exactly 48% and then bam, time out, now it just times out every time, can't get past 48%, like I said this is NOT a Furk server issue as I tried this on a Cybersmart account and files go through fine. Therefore, the ISSUE is WITH I-Burst. Please sort this blocking of Furk out with your international provider otherwise, I will OUT of principle lay a complaint with the Ombudsmann for the money lost, with HelloPeter and so forth.

I apologise but I cannot log in here everyday. If you require a more immediate response please escalate it to the iBurst rep using normal channels.

We are not blocking Furk but would request that a test login and file location be supplied so that we can test and detect the problem.

I've spent weeks with Furk support who narrowed the issue down to my ISP, like I said previously my same Furk account gives no problems with Cybersmart for the same files.

Ronald, it is all files that jam halfway through basically, so pick a file over a 800 MB and let me know. I don't particularily want to give out my paid membership login details.

Have to say I've also been working fine on other file hosting sites and these "knocks on wood" past two nights with no problems

anyone else ecperiencing low international speeds? mine's like wading through custard...

Zodiac setup a proxy IP and try DL through that

You mean proxy applications for anonymous IP? Tried that but they don't really allow for download manager protection or for large downloads. Any good suggestions?

Each time I try and download a file it asks me for money, so I am unable to test. Please PM me a link to a wireshark of the problem.

Anybody in the Krugersdorp area getting slow speed like 200k. I have to click on everything twice to get it to load. All we ask for is a stable network. It runs well for 5 days then bang back to been so Slooooow. I cant even load the speed net now. Signal stength is 100%, MTU has been set and dns flushed.

try a smaller file using an anonymous IP
idk how to set it up in IE but firefox is quite easy
go
here or other similar site
use one nearer to your country for lower latency but it doesn't matter if you choose further off servers, the affect is minimal.

in your browser locate connection settings
[for firefox go to Tool>>options>>Advanced tab>>Network subtab>>Settings (under connections) select manual proxy settings and input the IP and port # of your selected proxy. click apply]

this should reroute all traffic through your chosen proxy server and 'change' your IP

I got the impression that you can't download anything with iBurst, if you can download a small file through a proxy that means that your IP is being blocked by Furk, then you can ask iBurst to help you figure something out in that area, or ask Furk to help you by unblocking it or maybe think about paying for a proxy service (which does suck but if you wna stay with iBurst and Furk it's probably worth looking into)

this is the exact same problem i was having last night though i'm not in Krugersdorp :P. i realised later that it wasn't just international sites though. all sites were doing it.

Heya, thanks for the post. I can download small files no problem with and without Proxy from Furk.net. It is only the large files that time out on Iburst using Furk.

There was an issue with the Honeydew BTS. Would need to confirm that it affected Krugersdorp?
