*READ FIRST* iBurst Network Status & Issues (DNS, Throughput and Latency)

so Ronald what news do you have for me? Another evening of lag here.

Yesterday afternoon was playable, and Saturday iirc wasnt too bad either. But typically my evenings are just **** right now. Is there overloading or something on links? I really cant stand this anymore.

I have logged a ticket and have escalated the ticket. I do not have any feedback yet.

All connectivity to the Twilight Gaming Server is gone.

Their servers(warcraft 3, Mumble), I believe are hosted with Internet Solutions under the domain names of twilightgaming.co.za and war3.co.za

Any reason for the sudden loss of connectivity? Maybe peering with IS/telkom/whoever has gone down or something :?

Edit: All is fine and well again.

Great.

I have tried to obtain peering with IS but they tell me to take a hike as they will only peer with anyone that is large than them and they only use downloads as a metric and not latency. So that if you have a good gaming network, sorry. If you have a large P2P network with dodgy stuff, your'e welcome...

nope, but i guess this is the next step. I just find it weird how sometimes it works, and other times it doesnt. Will try and see if there is any pattern to this. Also, the Gardens Center, which is where i think the tower is, is literally 50 meters, maybe less, down the road from me. Maybe I am too close to it (given that its about 100 or more meters up)? :P Also bandwidth doesnt seem to be a massive issue. Just latency. I still chomp through 10gb easily in a month.

I'm starting to think that the BTS in Boksburg is dying. I've been disconnecting from the net at random times for the past week. Just lost connectivity now but was able to reconnect right away. Last night I lost connectivity and after an hour still couldn't reconnect :/

There was a wee problem in the early hours of Saturday morning in the area.

Will monitor the RF rings in the area and see that it is stable.

Problems in Cape Town - intermittent disconnections, slow browsing, etc.

Yup, waisted 4gb of data on interrupted downloads. so bloody wonderful.
Thank you iBurst for your consistent inconsistency.

IMO connectivity in Cape Town hasn't been right for quite a while, or has been temperamental, bouncing from normal
one day to iffy the next.

Network issue

This afternoon we experienced a network issue when the fail-over system didn't operate as expected when we has a problem in one of our data centres.

Apologies for the interruption. We have fixed the issue.

Connectivity has been very unstable in Boksburg tonight. had 3 disconnects so now. One every 1.3 hours or so.

Anyone experiencing DNS issues, in the JHB area? I'm connected to either the Lenasia, Lenasia North or Jabulani tower, and seem to be having intermittent DNS issues. Could be an issue on our local network as well - I'm busy investigating.
