Had similar bad problems last night, constant need to reset our MTN LTE router in N-E Joburg.

I saw on mybroadband that the average download speed for mtn is 83mbps. I got mtn fixed lte capped service with Axxess.
I only get a max speed of about 30mbps and during peak times in the evening about 20mbps. I have had this service for a long time. In the beginning I got more than double that and after 12 in the evenings I used to get a speed of over 100mbps. Is between 20 and 30mbps considered acceptable by you people? I am in Aston Bay in the Eastern Cape (next to Jeffreys Bay). Rebooting my laptop, cellphone and router makes no difference. Also using a lan cable makes no difference.

Your local tower is oversubscribed which is why it used to be fast but now it's slow because there's too many people trying to access the same bandwidth in your area.

I do believe there was an article about this some months back, about how MTN doesn't allocate the same amount of bandwidth for FLTE as standard LTE, so what I'm saying here is nothing new, but yeah, you're right - as more people hop onto a site, it congests, and standard LTE would take precedence in that situation.

Anyone else's MTN data inaccessible this morning? They had maintenance last night, but it doesn't seem to have come back online for me...

My MTN mobile data is running fine this morning in Stellenbosch but last night, although I was getting 100 Mbit/sec on speedtest some sites felt like they were on dial-up.

Correction, I am still having issues with some sites being unresponsive on MTN LTE.
I can switch easily between Telkom LTE and MTN LTE. Telkom only giving me around 20 Mbit/sec during the day but I have had no connectivity issues in a long time on Telkom.
