Hi.

I was having some connection issues the past couple of days. I was sure it was my router though, it was old and a little banged up. Some told me to look up my Line Attenuation and Noise Margin and from what I have been reading the downstream looks pretty good, however my upstream for my Line Attenuation is very High. Anyone got some suggestions on what is causing the issue?

ADSL Link - Downstream/Upstream
Connection Speed - 4096 kbps/511 kbps
Line Attenuation - 28.5 db/818.1 db
Noise Margin - 18.6 db/14.9 db

Just reboot the router. It is impossible for it to sync at 512kbps when the line attenuation is that high.

If it remains that high, just ignore it OR try to borrow someone else's TP-Link/D-Link ADSL modem.

Guys ive been struggling with my works ADSL for 2 months now.. Telkom keeps promising to remedy the situation but nothing ever changes. Check these stats out!!!

Your router is measuring in units of 0.1db, so basically divide 635 by 10 and you get 63.5dB, which is still insane.

Sorry bro :(

You know whats the weird thing?? At current residence my Attenuation is exactly the same at my work and im syncing at a 2MB line, and it never gives me this much hastle!!! Its making me mal!!!
