Yes, it was a Jeep as far as I can remember, quite a big one. I see people with fog lights on all the time, doesn't bother me at all, it is a soft light in any case.
EDIT: I didn't say they are blinding though - just they are much more distracting than fog lamps.

Huh, learn something new everyday. They are also no where near as bad as some of the newer model cars with the daytime running lights.
I will still switch it on, just for little snowflakes like you.
EDIT: learn what the word incompetent means, and how to use it properly.

Rear or front fog lights? They work differently.
Front fog lights work on the principle of being low and not reflecting light back from the droplets/air suspended particles into the drivers eyes and also lighting the verge/painted lines so that the driver can safely navigate the road at slow speed.
Rear for lights are hella (all puns intended) bright to penetrate the fog (smoke, whatever) to lessen the chances of someone driving into the back of you, because they are going too fast for the conditions.
Is also illegal.
People cry 'but it's illegal' when it suits them.
Regardless, it's a fact. Can you handle facts or ♪are you snowflake♪?
So would this weather in Joburg currently justify front fog lights?
So would this weather in Joburg currently justify front fog lights?
LOL. I'm not the one who can't handle a rear foglight.
If you have to ask then... no.
Is there a hint of fog? Do you see a Ford Fiesta? Are you driving a Tata. Yes Yes Yes? Go for it!
I don't get the fiesta thing. I have one and curios to know what's this about? Is there a hint of fog? Do you see a Ford Fiesta? Are you driving a Tata. Yes Yes Yes? Go for it!

Here’s how you tell the difference @Ockie
On BMW and Audi it’s especially bad.

IgnoranceSo what is your definition for incompetence? What is someone unable to drive in accordance with the road traffic regulations then? Surely the word to use can't be competent.
Let's keep it simple.
If you know that rear fogs may cause a distraction to others, leaving you with an increased chance of being involved in an accident, why would you in any sane frame of mind put them on when not required?
But nah, we're the crazy ones![]()
