Recommend a quality mouse

I need a new mouse. I'm currently using a G502 that has developed micro switch issues. The fsking thing is almost R2k and they cant put proper switches into it. I had the same issue with my last two G700's (one was a warranty replacement). It can't just be a fluke anymore, it must be a logitec issue, so not logitec please.
Also not razer. I have a mamba elite somewhere that I flung because the fsking scroll wheel never knows what direction I'm going and jumps in random increments. The first one developed this issue at 3 months old and now the warranty replacement is doing the same thing.

I need something a little heavier, with an adjustable dpi. Macro buttons are nice but not necessary.

Please can someone advise me on a mouse that will last more than a year.
 
Will follow this thread. My simple genius mouse which I purchase early to mid 2000s has started to act up. It is infrared, but is not tracking properly, cleaned the lens, but this did not help. The scroll function and buttons is still working after all these years. Takealot has its younger sibling for R79 which I planned to buy. Just waiting, so that I can purchase other crap I need to get the free delivery.
 
Strangely enough my Redragon Phoenix was cheap, has been used constantly over the last 2 years and not an issue.
 
a few years ago I would defnitely have said Genius Netscroll (or even AOpen)

but now definitely another Logitech - I know this is 3rd time unlucky for you, but your litter of dud Logitech mice has ended now.

Both my Logitech Mx Anywhere mouse's developed microswitch issues but once I opened them up and doused them in switch cleaner they have been fine since then, well it's been a good 5yrs and still going strong.

You can even buy replacement switches for not much money and they are easy to swop out, just need a basic soldiering iron.

My last Razer did the same thing with the scroll wheel, it's just fluff in the wheel confusing the pickup, easy to clean and fix.

I highly recommend the MX anywhere mouse's, 3 programmable buttons, awesome scroll wheel and they fit my hand perfectly, no carpal issues.
 
Yeah I think I have the g502. Buttons is an issue and I replaced mine after getting too annoyed. Few dollar and some soldering.
 
I've had my g502 for over 2 years and it's fine..

Wonder if there was a batch of bad switches and some g502s were unfortunate enough to get the bad ones and others not..
 
Either way, most of these you can replace the buttons, in fact some serious gamers replace them anyway to upgrade them to better switches or just to change the feedback or feel.

I just opened my old genius mouse, saw nothing wrong gave it a quick clean from the inside, surprisingly dirty, but nothing looking wrong. Put it back together and it is working now.

Where'd you get your replacement parts from? I'm actually looking for replacement pads & switches for a Logitech G900 & possibly a replacement battery pack

Initially I looked on Amazon UK, but found the listed parts are from China anyways.
So ended up buying from Aliexpress where I found more options.

First step is, to research which button you want to put in the mouse, because there are different types of these buttons, like minor differences in the shape and pins being soldered on. Then the next step is to figure out the feel you like, some press with hard click and others with soft or no click and it feels different too.

For the G602 I ordered:

Just search "G602 mouse feet".

Search for a product with cheap shipping to SA or message the seller and ask him to add a cheaper method if the shipping is like $100 for a $2 item. They generally very happy to do so.

I must get this switch cleaner, I've been using 99% alcohol to clean stuff.
 
A colleague also struggled with his Logitech mouse and the switches. He now opens and cleans them every 2-3 months, it seems to be working for him.

As to a recommendation, I have been using the same Corsair M65 for about 7 - 7.5 years now. I have never had a single issue with it.
