Recommendations for small/super-mini type car

Interested to know your driving impressions. I wasn't impressed with the last Mazda 2 I drove but I think there was something wrong with that car.

Will let you know as soon I get to drive one. I was told they'd be available again next month.

Ordered the Mazda2 Dynamic manual today.

The drive is really good and the interior is so much nicer than the Clio (imo). You can feel it's a small engine but that's not unexpected in this range but it's super quiet and comfortable. Steering is really good and gear shifts are superb.

Threw in extra for sat nav even though I have Google maps on my phone it feels like a waste having the centre console and no navigation.

Dealing with finance on Monday, hopefully I can get a decent interest rate.

Congrats, and a very good choice.

Nice car, good choice. I would have gone for something German, but the Mazda2 is excellent, you get a good spec level with the Dynamic.

Guys are making me such a Mazda fan in all the car threads lately

Sweet! What colour? That Mazda Red?

No, the white. I prefer the more conservative look (and it doesn't show dirt as easily :D).

Trying to get these cars at the moment is quite a mission, had to go to Tygervalley to even test drive one and they're only getting one unit of the model I was looking for next month (well mid-Feb is what they said).

Urggh. Financing denied by 3 banks.

Because I don't work for a South African company, and have only been "self-employed" for 4 months, they don't want to even entertain the idea of lending me money even though my salary has almost tripled with my new job and I earn US dollars. It's ridiculous as the monthly instalment would have been less than 4k on the term I requested (and still planned on putting more in on top of that).

I've emailed the finance agent now to ask what options there are but sounds like he's given up. Do I have any options besides buying the car with cash outright (which is not possible right now)?

I assume one of those were Wesbank/FNB ? If not hop on down to your nearest GM dealer and they'll sort you out.

Having another go with Wesbank, managed to talk to a very helpful lady who helped me figure out what was wrong. They hadn't added my January salary in at all as it only arrived in my account on 1 Feb, as well as some other little things.

Hope to hear Monday.

Hope it goes right. I have always had good service from Wesbank, although they seem to be a favourite of GMSA.
