Recommendations for Wordpress hosting provider please?

I'm done with the lack of support from Axxess, and I need suggestions on alternative hosting providers.

Factors include:
Cost - Budget is limited. Axxess is cheap, and I see that others are also in the same ballpark (Hetzner is more expensive for what appears to be similar facilities). Yes, you get what you pay for but let's be real. Most of us don't have decent budgets, and even at the cheaper tiers there are providers that provide better packages and service than others.
Up to date - need PHP7 for Wordpress eLearning modules
Good support - answer the phones and be contactable on weekends (when things generally seem to go wrong)
Performance - WordPress on Axxess is very slow. They say they're using SSDs but I'm not sure, with those speeds. I've optimized the WP setup, and used Cloudflare but no real improvement was noted. Home page still takes more than 10 secs to load (on a fibre connection).

Any suggestions and experiences would be appreciated.

Hi, our company uses gphosting.co.za to host our site. so far no issue (touch wood). We've been with them for just over 3 months.

What's your monthly hosting budget? You get lots of bundled offers from isps and hosts.

Personally I stick with domains(Co.za) for my sites. Service has been excellent and have only had one server issue which was quickly resolved in the 3 years I've been hosting WP sites with them.
