Hi guys,

Im looking for an Uncapped ISP account that will satisfy the following conditions:

  • Full speed HTTP 24/7
  • Shaped protocols run full speed at night (P2P)

I have been with MWeb for around 8 months, they were average at best with P2P traffic only running full speed from 1AM-8AM if you were lucky and gaming being terribly shaped.

I am currently with Openweb Gold who have 2 accounts, one IS and one VB, the VB one has great HTTP all round but terrible P2P at all hours of the day. The IS one has fantastic P2P from 18:45-8:15 and on weekends but only 60K HTTP during daytime hours.

I am really not having any luck here and am open to suggestions. I am willing to try news servers but last time I looked they did not have the files I was looking for or were running weeks behind torrent releases, then again I might have been using them wrong?

yeah maybe used wrong i personally use payed news server from usenetserver.com.

and i always get stuff up to date, useing newhost.za.net, to get nzb files( inv only site)

$15 is a bit steep, Id rather pay R50 for ftp... but then again I dont understand why we have to supplement our accounts with third party services at all! :(

@ OP - Please post your findings as I think that you are dreaming. It is easy to post on MYBB and let us do the work. Why not make a good suggestion ?

the thing is with newsgroups don't really get shaped, but they don't give a free one :(

so kind of force to and the IS news is pretty slow as well :(

on vb you can use supernews which is 10 dollars.

How on earth do news servers run weeks behind torrent releases? In my experience they are ahead of torrent releases. I use sickbeard, and when I wake up the next morning my stuff from the previous night is done. Ie. if something airs 2nite in the US, I will have it tomorrow.

You don't get better than sabnzbd+sickbeard+couchpotato+xbmc for automation of series and movies.

Im not interested in US TV tho, mine is anime and Japanese which is not as easily available.... Thought my name would have given it away! ^.~

True, the Anime crews run it a bit differently. I didn't actually look at the name, it wasn't a personal comment, but a general one :)

Honestly, I remember getting Anime releases via IRC xdcc/fileserve bots, however those just won't work on a shaped ISP, I am pretty certain of that. I guess you will have to stick to the torrent releases after all.

Thanks, thats the conclusion I have reached, I appreciate your input...
