Recourse on unknowingly purchasing counterfeit AirPods

I purchased AirPods from a website called techmaniasa.co.za. They claim to be an apple distributor. When I received the item it was a clear counterfeit product. The “company” has not replied to my request for a refund. How do I take this matter further? It was quite a large sum of money paid.

Did you buy using a credit card? If so, you could try a charge-back.

How much small-claims court etc. do you feel like going through? However chances are it would be difficult to even track this back to anyone you could actually take to court. That site is so obviously a scam (buy one set of airpods get one free, lol) I doubt you'll get anywhere with them.

Contact the core group, and give them the details also. Core is the Apple Supplier in SA. They will nail them legally for saying its Apple Approved but its clearly not.

could lay a complaint with the ASA? it is false advertising. I had a look at their site now. no where does it say generic or anything they clearly say Apple Airpods.

Yeah, I would go with the bank first selling counterfeits is illegal so shouldn't be hard to do a chargeback if its in the timeframe.

If people are smart enough to create profiles and start threads on MYBB how are they not smart enough to do research before buying from unknown websites.
