Statutory Recognition of Therapeutic Reflexology

At the end of October 2000 the Integrated Health Professions Liaison Committee, delivered a presentation to the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Health for the Statutory Registration of Therapeutic Reflexology.
On 3 November 2000, Parliament passed the Bill and South Africa was the first country to recognise reflexology as a profession.
The South African Reflexology Society [TSARS] was instrumental in gaining the Allied Health Professions Council’s statutory recognition for therapeutic reflexology as a health profession in February 2001 [GN R127 of 12 February 2001].

Maybe relaxed people don't "catch" cancer that easily as opposed to stressed people. I'm sure you would agree that too much stress
is really bad for you and can cause all sorts of dis-ease.

...and then the "people" die of all kinds of STDs, the "practitioner" ends up in jail or the "patient "gets in trouble with the wife.

Not a good substitute at all.

Chemo, radiotherapy and surgery can effectively treat many cancers. Just because there is no existing cure doesn't mean nonsense like reflexology is any better...

Um, one doesn't catch cancer. Perhaps you should take a book with you the next time you go for a foot massage...
 
@ DJ...I am not saying it works. I cant...as I have never had this done. Also..I am not doing Reflexology...I am just having a nice hour long massage and then Reiki. My sister had the Reiki done and she said she loved it. It was a weird experience..but lovely.

I love a braai....but I also love to be pampered...and being single means no one to give me backrubs...so I will just have to pay.

My sis told me the guy that does the Reiki is a gay outjie. Studied Reiki and Reflexology in the Netherlands I think. Wonder if he is cute, short and hairy. If he is then my Shakras might just align all by themselves :p

If anything I am just looking forward to getting out of Joburg for a day and being fcking pampered!!!

Again, burn your money instead. Or have the gay reiki guy give you a massage. Really people, why would you hand over your money to conmen? You wouldn't if it was a Nigerian asking for your bank details. Why would you do it when it's a Swedish bloke asking for hand outs to lie to you...?

Why are you getting so upset about this DJ? My sister said it was a great experience for her...and so I will be seeing for myself. And like I said before...I am having a massage before hand...or afterwards....not sure how the retreat scheduled it. At the very least it should be a relaxing experience. No harm done.

I am going because my sister said she really enjoyed it. A hippy have not lied to me...and no..my sister is not a hippie....if she was I would have ex communicated her a long time ago. :)

If I enjoy it...then I enjoy it and might go back now and then. If it does nothing for me then I just wont have the Reiki done again...simple as that.
