Thanks it was actually stupidity on my side lol. Feel like an idiot. Box is hardwired to a range extender that was switched off. Problem solved

DSTV is working on my Rasberry pi 4 with Raspbian.
Saw a youtube to do the following:-
$ sudo su
# cd /usr/lib/chromium-browser
# wget http://blog.vpetkov.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/libwidevinecdm.so_.zip
# unzip libwidevinecdm.so_.zip && chmod 755 libwidevinecdm.so
# wget http://blog.vpetkov.net/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/chromeos-browser.desktop.zip
# unzip chromeos-browser.desktop.zip && mv chromeos-browser.desktop /usr/share/applications

I get frequent bufferring. 1 to 2 seconds being replayed every few minutes.

First time Im experiecing this. Reducing bitrate does not fix it.

Any ideas. Is there a way to buffer the stream upfront for few seconds?

Nope. I have the same problem. Think we have to get used to this especially during the corona lockdown and especially during prime time daily.
If I stream via a browser / the android app it seems fine but it uses adaptive streaming in the sense that it switches the quality down on the fly if your connection speed slows / server gets busy.

I get buffering after 20 minutes or so and then everything will eventually freeze, but I think it is because I am using a RPi3

If tried reducing bitrate, but does not seem to solve issue. So not convinced it is bandwidth related.

Could the buffering not be related to the WACS and SAT3 cable breaks ? Everyone's internet is suffering a little until those cables are fixed.
