I get the same pop up when watching BBC Lifestyle. However, it only happens when there is an ad break, and after the first ad ends. I then have to stop the channel and re-open it for the screen to disappear and for the channel to continue working.

This is on my Android box with Kodi 19 installed and configured with the IPTVMerge addon.

for me its on xbox dstv app and browser
 
Been having like a "slow mo" video at times. Stopping & starting stream resolves issue, just wondering if anyone else had similar experiences. If so what did you do?
Oh for got to mention, don't have this issue on Telkom List using DSTV app.
Only happens on MXQ Pro

Yeah most of the MXQ Pro boxes is 1/8GB storage, so needs a reboot every now and then, the 1GB RAM being the problem. The xiaomi mi and telkom lit has 2Gb RAM

It's 4GB RAM, 32GB storage
Reboot & Kodi hangs, just fetched the LiT in TV Room.
Much less stress
Gave up trying to get Jellyfin working on it as well

You mentioned the Telkom lit is using the dstv app - the app uses dynamic streaming so if your internet speed drops / the dstv server is overloaded it switches down.
In contrast the kodi addon tries keeping up with the selected resolution and will either buffer or go "slo mo" if it can't keep up, so you can try one step down and see if you get get less "slo mo".

If your kodi hangs you can try reset the box and install kodi only and see if it works. After that start adding other apps that might be causing your problem.

Will give it a go tomorrow, hopefully if it powers up again it will start with no issues.
MXQ been going good for past 6-8 months, maybe needs a fresh install.
 
DSTV via Kodi requires login (which I have), but it says I have to link device, by going to now.dstv.com/tv however this site does not load on any browser. Anybody else experiencing the same? Thanks
 
I encounter periodic buffering on channel 211 Non live programs but get no buffer at all on live rugby matches. For instance over the weekend, I watched cheetahs at 130 pm fine followed by the lions v Japan without a single buffer. After the live Japan game, it starts to buffer periodically. Fast foward to night time and i watched the Harlequins game perfect full HD with no buffer. Since then I have not watched a live game again and 211 buffers periodically. All other channels are perfect including 203 for live and non live programs . Is anyone experiencing the same? I run on firstick on the TV.

You cannot expect to run buffer free at 1080p on all the channels all the time.

Even though your internet connection is fast enough your connection can drop from time to time due to various reasons especially during peak times on the net like 19:00 - 23:00 daily.

Then dstv's servers may also get overloaded depending on hom many people is watching a particular event / program, only way to avoid buffering is to switch resolution one down.

Thanks mate but only the rugby has periodic buffer and this happens only when live matches are going on. I thought it could buffer more during the live games like the Harlequins final but that was perfect and within the so called peak times yet it does buffer periodically when the replay of the same game is running during non peak hours. All other channels run without flaw even when there is no live games. I am greatful live doesn’t buffer but was just curious as to why it is only the rugby channel. NBA replays and live are perfect on ESPN 2. I am a rugby and NBA addict so would love to binge on rugby replays.
