[RELEASE] DStv Now KODI Add-on

Can't login on Libreelec, can login on chrome. Can watch in Chrome on Windows, but doesn't play on Linux. Get the error message, "Sorry we are unable to play this video right now.... etc.."

Edit:

Works now. After rebooting, resetting the addon settings, another reboot, and then it worked on libreelec. Still not working on linux though.

Evening all,

Im running LibreElec Leia 18.6, Dstv now 11.9, reinstalled Widevine and used an older version.

I keep getting "failed to parse access token"

Have been for about 4 months now.

Below is the log output:

ERROR: GetDirectory - Error getting plugin://plugin.video.dstv.now/?_=login
ERROR: CGUIMediaWindow::GetDirectory(plugin://plugin.video.dstv.now/?_=login) failed

Ive checked login details over 200 times and even entered them with a USB keyboard attached.

Please could someone assist me, I would be most grateful.

4 months? Make sure you uninstalled matt's repo and installed slyguy's repo. Then try login on the website to make sure your credentials are correct and uninstall and re-install the addon (and say yes when asked to clear all settings of the add-on)

Removing Matt's repo I did first. Only using Slyguys to get 11.9. Checked credentials against DStv website. Even manually deleted userdata folder after removing addon and restarting. No joy. Not sure what it could be.

weird...I'm using it on 3 platforms (coreelec, android and windows) without a problem

That "log" of yours is not enough. Turn on debug logging (ctrl-shift-d) and make the error occur again and paste your log to a pastebin then @js9241698 or someone can maybe assist

Done.

Done.

Ok so maybe try this:
1. delete /storage/.kodi/userdata/addon_data/plugin.video.dstv.now/settings.xml (this is where the plugin stores your login data and its settings)
2. Open the addon again and login with correct email but wrong pass (this should give 'failed to login' error)
3. Try again with correct password and see if it results in 'failed to parse token' again?

Interesting, even with the correct credentials it didnt produce the parse token error.

What you mean? According to you you have verified your credentials against the website and was getting 'parse token error', now you saying the opposite?

Can you get a 'failed to login error' at least with the wrong info?

I rebooted Kodi and the parse token error returned.

I did get login error with wrong info.

Is your smart card properly linked on https://connect.dstv.com, i.e. can you open a stream of a channel on the actual website would mean it is linked properly.

I just deleted my settings.xml and on login got this error:
kIMVBbf.png

I then deleted it again and tried logging in and it worked without error. dstv sometimes has issues but should not be whole time, I usually get 'failed to parse token' errors after midnight when they seem to do mantenance.

Am i the only one getting the following error when accessing DSTV NOW : Tv Shows, Movies, Kids or Sport section on KODI (Pi4 Libreelec) :
IndexError: list index out of range
File"/resources/lib/api.py", line 176, in series return data['items'][0]['program']

I logged out of DSTV Now app on Kodi and with correct credentials, i get Parse error and advised to logout and try again. still fails. uninstalled addon and redone it with repo. still fails

You seem to have the same problem as @Peon above. Not sure what you guys do different but everybody else's seems to work.
When you uninstall the addon did you say yes when asked to remove all settings?

Now that DSTV is allowing certain news channels to be viewed on DSTV now for free, is there anyway to use this addon to view them? If not could this be done. Thanks in advance.
