Good Day

So for the past 1500KM, my car has been nagging that it would require a service, it started giving the warning at 8500KM, which means that it would need a service at 10 000KM. At about 9500KM, I contacted Reanult to book the car in for as service, which was yesterday at 7:30 am. I then arrived at the dealer and they checked the Odometer reading which was at 10 007 KM. They then said that it is to early to come in for a service, and that it should only come in at 15 000KM. This is all good and well, but then I asked them about resetting the service light, as I am not going to drive with that light continually on for the next 500km, they then said that I should just ignore it as they won't reset it yet. What I would like to know is, if they have the right to do this? Surely they can't expect me to drive with the car begging for a service for the next 5000km? So what should I do?

Thanks.

Put your foot down ,asked for it be reset/fixed your car is still under warranty and should not be asking for a service before the time ,unless there is a problem.

This is what I thought, I would also like to know if there are any other Clio IV owners who ever had the car asking for a service at 10000km? Since this is the first time I've heard of it.

If the guy said this. Ask for it in writing so that you covered...

The service interval isn't only distance based. It also depend on the time that has elapsed.
The service department is lazy and need to do a body inspection if the kilometres haven't been reached yet. They should reset the service indicator and make an entry in your service booklet.

Is your car covered with a service plan?

Has a year passed since your last service?

Hmmmm might be there is an issue. They must check it out

They said there is nothing wrong with it, they said its normal on the Clio to give a warning at 10000km. Would like to get in contact with other Clio owners to verify this.
They said they have it on record that the car was there. I'm just amazed that they said nothing needs to be done by only checking the kilometres.

As I said earlier, take it to another dealer. Where did you go?

Service interval will be 15000km or 12 months. Whichever comes first. Dunno if the OP mentioned any time frame?

Either way, if the service light is on, the car needs a service.
