Renault Kiger scores 4-stars in Global NCAP crash test - Team-BHP​

The Renault Kiger shares its underpinnings with the Nissan Magnite.



The Renault Kiger has been awarded a 4-star safety rating by Global NCAP. The car scored 12.34 points for adult occupant protection and 21.05 points for child safety.

According to the test report, the Kiger offered good protection to the head and neck of the front occupants. The driver’s chest showed marginal protection and the passenger’s chest showed adequate protection.

The passenger’s right knee showed good protection. The driver’s tibias and passenger’s right tibia showed adequate protection while the passenger’s left tibia showed good protection.

The child seat for the 3-year-old dummy could not prevent excessive forward movement of the head and offered poor protection to the chest.

The child seat for the 1.5-year-old dummy offered good protection to the head but the protection offered to the chest was rated as weak.

The test vehicle was equipped with dual front airbags, ABS, seatbelt pre-tensioners, seatbelt reminders and ISOFIX.

2022 Renault Kiger launched (in India) at Rs. 5.84 lakh - Team-BHP​

Renault has launched the 2022 Kiger [in India] with prices starting at Rs. 5.84 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings open on March 31, 2022.

The 2022 Kiger features a front skid plate, chrome trim on the tailgate, diamond-cut alloy wheels with red wheel caps and Turbo door decals. The crossover also gets a new dual-tone colour option - Metal Mustard with Mystery Black Roof.

Inside, the 2022 Kiger gets a Red Dade dashboard accent and quilted emboss seat upholstery with red stitching. Renault has now provided features like cruise control and wireless charging as well.

The Kiger is powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that produces 99 BHP and 160 Nm. The engine is now available with either a 5-speed manual or CVT in 'RXT (O)' trim.

The Kiger also comes with a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that makes 71 BHP and 96 Nm. This engine is mated to either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT.

2024 Renault Kiger launched at Rs 6.00 lakh - Team-BHP​

The crossover is now available in four new variants, powered by NA and turbo-petrol engines.​

Renault has launched the 2024 Kiger in India at prices starting at Rs 6.00 lakh (ex-showroom). The crossover is now available in four new variants.

The 2024 Kiger comes with semi-leatherette seats with a leatherette steering wheel, auto-folding ORVMs with “welcome-goodbye" sequence and a bezel-less auto-dimming IRVM. The turbo-petrol variants get red brake calipers.

The Kiger is available with two engine options. These include a 1.0-litre petrol unit that makes 71 BHP and 96 Nm paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that puts out 99 BHP and 160 Nm (MT) / 152 Nm (CVT). It is available with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT.
