Replacement batteries for Mecer 2000VA UPS

So I ordered some replacement batteries for my RCT2000VA but Viewpower interface shows my old batteries at 100% capacity. It behaves like a UPS with completely dead batteries but could it be something else? Like a faulty processor?

So, on a side, running on eskom power and the UPS is taking load, although insignificant. Why is this? Is that to compensate for shortfall on incoming frequency? IE to maintain output frequency at 50Hz when input might be 49Hz?

Hey Kings, sure as hell not going to read the whole thread. Has anybody replaced the battery in one of these bad boys with a lithium ion? It has monitoring software, so should in theory work, just wondering if it has been done.

For anyone who is looking at the end of 2024. GeeWiz sell a 12V 10Ah lithium replacement (link below) for a 12V 7Ah lead acid. It's the same size as the 7Ah. Note that it's capable of a discharge current of 20A sustained and 40A bursts. That means if you put it in a Mecer 2000VA, you need to make sure that you don't draw more than ~500VA continuously. Also you may need a battery balancer for the 2000VA, as the batteries are in series - not 100% sure on this though confirmed with GeeWiz tech.

So I have 3 of these at my business, with various peripherals attached, to facilitate smooth transition from grid power to generated power and vise versa. All 3 have failed within the space of a couple of months. When the power trips they don't kick in and keep the connected devices powered up.

Any idea what the issue could be?

All indications are they should be functioning as intended.... it would seem the component tasked with switching from AC to DC is damaged?

Have you disconnected the load and checked if they then switch over?

The batteries could still be shot especially if it uses lead acid's. Had one the other day that did the same thing replaced the batteries and it was sorted.
