I was just curious - how many of you out there report SPAM?

I mean, I understand not reporting "spoofed spam"/viagra spam, etc. But how about local (and international) spam.
It annoys the crap out of me and I receive tons of it - but I take the time out to report it to www.spamcop.net in hopes that people will learn their lesson.

I use MailWasher to view the mail headers [on the mail server] before downloading.

One can (in addition to deleting before downloading) 'bounce' the email - i.e. spoof as non-deliverable.

One can also report the email to SpamCop simply by checking the box ...

/bump :)

I am now getting spam from '@remax-masters.co.za'.

There is no unsubscribe option and I definitely did not sign up for their carp.

I have tried contacting them to get me off their database. No response.

I have scouted around the Ispa.org.za website, but I do not think that I can lodge a complaint because I do not know the ISP.

So any ideas on how to report them or lay an official complaint somewhere?

SpamCop - any decent ISP (except in maybe china / russia and what not) wont host anyone listed on SpamCop.

Not spam so much - Gmail's filters catch 99% of that. I do go a bit loopy with phising emails though:

1. Forward to phishtank.com
2. Report to Mozilla, Google and Microsoft
3. Check the domain's home page for either an email address or, preferably, contact details for a webmaster & inform them.

My record's about 7 minutes from reporting to going offline. I'll spend the time in between by filling in various profanities in the scammers' data fields. :D
