Good day all,
Some time ago I stopped my Neotel Prime service due to lack of service coverage in the area that I live. I am busy selling the device to a friend of mine for R500 - he wants (!) Neotel and are willing to pay the R500 up front to get the device so that he can go on a month-to-month contract (or better, pre-paid).
Thing is, both Neotel & Nashua Mobile tells him he HAS to get a new device - they can't re-use old devices. I find this really backward thinking - they are essentially creating landfills of old devices if it can only be used on one contract (and probably making a quick buck in the process by continuing to sell new devices).
Furthermore, when he inquired about the Pre-paid services, they said 1 August and only available on on the Lite package (which is pathetic).
I will now advise him to get iBurst - even though they used to be pretty sucky, they allow old devices AND prepaid on any !#$(*^& device. And oh yes - it is more reliable as well. And oh yes, you can get more than lite speeds on pre-paid!
I will also proceed to create a new thread where we can discuss what exactly I will be doing with my old Neotel phone. Perhaps start a flamewar - in the physical world - and burn the thing. The thing is now completely useless to me - no wonder one sees no ads in the Junkmail for them.
