I have two e-mails at work, one running on LAN connection out Outlook and another one running on ASDL connection on Outlook Express.

So when I got to work on Monday all of a sudden I could not receive mail, kept getting error messages, could send though.

Phoned MWeb, not much help, suggest I put my PC off for a while...

Anycase eventually e-mailed them and they e-mailed back to move all my mails out of inbox in temp box, then check where inbox located, delete folder and when I reopen Outlook Express it will create new inbox and download e-mails.

Problem was that when I deleted the folder I got message saying file too big for Recycle Bin, can it be permanently deleted, so I says yes thinking Inbox info in Temp folder

So reopen Outlook Express and voila it starts downloading e-mails.... BUT
as it turns out my Temp folder and all other subfolders were uhmmm under my Inbox folder....

Search was unsuccessful, left PC on overnight cos I am sure there is a way of retrieving please tell me I'm right?

Any suggestions for my partner?

Getdataback for NTFS/Fat depending on file system works great!
Ontrack EasyRecovery Professional
R-Studio Data Recovery

Others I havent tested out yet:
Active File Recovery
EASEUS Data Recovery Wizard Professional
File Scavenger
FileRecoveryAngel
Handy Recovery
Iolo Search and Recover
Magic Recovery Professional
PC Inspector File Recovery

Hope this helps

Recuva is a great app, the only problem is if you have written new files to the drive it's possible you won't be able to recover the old ones..... Good luck though. I've used recuva successfully many times, smallish download, it's free to use and pretty simple to follow..

Whatever might be the email client you have to backup your emails regularly. This backup file helps you out in data loss scenarios. You can even backup Outlook pst file using best tool. When you download demo version of the tool you are able to preview this backup process
