He has placed his own kid in an Afrikaans school, only because he knows that is the best place for education.

What the faggot does not understand, is that when he makes an Afrikaans school dual medium, a number of Afrikaans speaking teachers will either leave themselves or be replaced by English speaking teachers. More often than not, these are people who are not properly qualified to teach or people who paid a bribe to his office to be appointed.

In most cases these schools lose qualified teachers. In addition, many parents who paid school fees are moving their children to other schools, private schools or even home schooling. A shocking fact I recently heard from my kids school is that this year alone 19 families left the school and opted for home schooling.

These schools often pay for additional teachers from school fees and this will lead to many more teachers losing their jobs. Like I said, I for one will not allow my children to be forced to a school where they cannot receive education in their home language. The school will definately lose out on my R3200 monthly contribution.

But, these people don't see it. Our education system has not yet started failing in my opinion. But, it will now be a landslide downwards!

It's the same problem in universities
Just make all tuition across the board English

People simply don't realise the writing is on the wall for SA. Another couple of years and we'll be no different to the rest of africa.

Here is why this will not work out in South Africa.

This government does not have the funds to finance all educational institutions - schools, universities, etc. schools are still reliant on monthly school fees or else it will go to shreads.

As for schools, many Afrikaans people will remove their children from schools. It is already happening. They take their children to schools where they still get education in their own language.

I know of places where qualified teachers are making a killing in offering home schooling to groups of Afrikaans speaking children at their homes. This will definately be an option for me going forward.

As for universities, many people are now getting loans and sending their children abroad.

These are all income lost to these institutions. Imagine the day when they do not earn enough money and these schools have 2000 to 3000 children and only 10 teachers.

The system will fail.

I disagree strongly. Up north are African countries without hangups that are actually progressing. We will end up like Zimbabwe at the bottom of the food chain with nothing left to plunder. Hopefully the Chinese will come to the rescue and be the new colonial masters.

This is very true, but placing myself at risk, me as an Afrikaans speaking person with children do hve options for my kids to get a proper education, albeit home schooling through retired or retrenched Afrikaans speaking teachers.

I have a plan working the next 12 years to send my kids abroad to study. Whether they come back to SA or stay and work abroad is up to them.

Wonder what my fellow africans have in place for their children when the system eventually fails them?
 
Reverse everything to do with Apartheid? We have that already. Its called BBBEE (Lost count of how many Bs and how many Es needed)

You also need to get over this afrikaans thing, it's not something special & does not deserve any special treatment. At the end of the day it's just a language, don't let it hamper you ;) Maybe it's just where I live but I see a lot of afrikaans people sending their kids to engrish schools here, in the long run it will benefit them more.
 
They already reversed the healthcare system apartheid gave them.

Are comments like this really acceptable? Trilkp especially, not only uses a disgusting slur, but makes an outlandish claim and doesn't back it up.

For me, the logical long term stratergy must be a move towards all teaching being in English.
