Review:
-Fantastic replacement (in terms of ease of use) compared to standard razors.
-Not having to worry about cuts or nicks, even in sensitive areas, with the attachment.
-Completely waterproof.

Cons:
-Does not cut as close as a straight/cut-throat razor.
-Seems like the blade could snap if too much pressure applied.
-The attachment did pop-off when used to trim my beard.
 
I also had that initially. You'll get used to not using so much force. Let the machine do the work.
 
I've gone back to the OneBlade this week. :ROFL:
The chinese one even though it kept its charge long (only charged it 3 times since) and gave a quicker shave was not giving a healthy shave. :notworthy:
The ONEBLADE doesnt give a extreme close shave but it is a healthier shave in that when my hair grows back the next day it grows back evenly and it seems to grow back less with the Oneblade shave.
Im just having to spend some extra time shaving every day now especially under the chin where the one blade struggles a bit.
I should look into the ex-clicks stolen stock for blades since i get my AA and AAA rechargeables there anyway. :unsure:
 
Lol so I was right it's chinese junk. You can also wait for black Friday and stock up on blades when they're on special.

It works really well, cuts closer than a OneBlade and far better than my older higher series Philips shaver(granted it was pretty tired). I don't have a very thick beard but it cuts great, no complaints and by some miracle it doesn't give me almost any razor burn under the chin, I almost don't need a OneBlade any more. Granted the OneBlade is still very useful to have because you can style and trim stuff and with the comb you can keep sideburns/moustache/beard in check.

So this has been working well, no complaints but I got a really good deal on a Philips 3000 Series S3144/00 li-Ion which I couldn't pass up on so I now have the more expensive one, is it better though?

Much like a entry level vs expensive OneBlade the 1000 and 3000 series use the same cutting heads but the 3000 series spins faster and being Li-ion it keeps cutting faster for longer so the experience is noticeably better. It cuts with less passes and misses less spots. The 5D flexible head is nice but even the budget 1000 has plenty flex in the cutters themselves, the real benefit is in the higher cutting speeds and the li-ion battery. Philips doesn't publish the speeds of the units but AI thinks its the 30000 is a good 50-100% faster than the 1000 series.

All in I'd say the S3144/00 li-Ion is worth the premium over the S1151/00.
That being said the S1151/00 is currently selling at R399, which is a deal of note vs around R1300-R1400 which the 3144/00 normally sells for.

No thanks the Oneblade is superior. Much easier to clean and shave almost as close.

Feck off peasant!

The OneBlade is slow and messy in comparison, they are still good but not that good.
This new shaver near fully negates needing to use my Oneblade, I had to always finish up with the OneBlade with the 1000 series but the 3000 series is so good I haven't needed to thus far.

This is more messy all your beard hair just gets pushed deep into the machine.

Clueless as usual :rolleyes:
I can shave for days with the shaver and not need to empty it, the hair get neatly stored in the head and the head is waterproof so you can just rinse it out every so often.

Not at all. I opened one up after 10 years.
 
My last Philips 1000 lasted exactly 10 years before the battery became too weak and the cutting too slow. Now using a cheap Clicks shaver (R399) I got as a present. So far so good..........

Thanks for this !, I nearly bought the 3000 a few times but always chickened out thinking that nothing will shave closer and easier than a razor.

I have the one blade and it's excellent for trimming etc but shaving with it is just way too tedious.

If it takes more than 2 passes you need to swap the blade out.

Some hair may migrate inside the housing of your ancient shaver but who cares if it does

Nothing is as close as a razor but for a clean shave that will last a day nothing beats these Phillips shavers, quick clean painless.
I still use the Oneblade for trimming/sideburns etc, it’s a good tool but not the best for all over the face on the daily.

That's why I only use the One Blade in the shower for my ballas.
