Road Accident

No it won't. Only if you claim often, in other words become a high liability, or claim for something substantial. Policy should remain the same, unless it has those so called no claim bonus they use to discourage you from claiming. Fortunately santam had no such rubbish.
Yeah sorry I was with Outsurance for my home owners, still a sour taste, we had our ceiling collapse due to heavy storm and the premium went up, but yeah thinking of Aforbes/Momentum I've never had that.

Yeah, thats why when you apply for new insurance they ask for any loss incidents whether claimed or not. Just for the "record"LOL.

That would probably be a major claim and house insurance.

A "bumper scratch" is hardly comparable, even though it can still cost more than expected. Car spares and pricing are absolutely insane.

Actually was only about 9k, a bumper scratch on a merc costs more and that was in 2015.

No reckless or negligent driving. Thank you for the advice. I am not claiming from my insurance because I have been claim free forever.
According to the insurance , even if the person who has right of way does not take the necessary precautions ( whatever that means) they are liable for the accident.
Melr01, please claim from your insurance. This is honestly the best advice for getting your car sorted out quickly.

It will take you years to sue the other party through the courts. Even then, if you win you still need to pay lawyers meaning you still lose.

Lastly, insurance premiums do not automatically increase just because you were in an accident. The merits of the case count.

Maybe just before the yearly increase / review? And/or no claim rubbish.

I've claimed a couple of times on my insurance during the year, last one was almost R30 000, just a small scratch. Insurance premium stays the same.

It was outsurance :-P

People need to understand apportionment of blame and the need to mitigate loss.

It’s fundamental when make statements re accidents etc.

You were in an accident. That is a fact. So you are not accident free anymore.
You premium is based on that fact. That is now a lie.
You must inform your Insurer, or the next time you do have a need to claim they will use this against you and repudiate. Do not for one second think they will not try and screw you over.

And now that they know about the accident, you might as well use them. They have more legal power than you. You will get your money back, your excess back, and most decent insurance companies will not increase your premium. But you pay them exactly for this reason.

What a goofball. yikes. That time his insurance company's CEO is driving around in a Mercedes S-class.

Another outsurance client, you're acting stupid. This is why you have insurance so you don't have to deal with garbage like this. Call your insurance and make it their problem.

Vehicle backed out of the driveway and I hit the rear fender. I was on a straight and could not a void the collision. The other drivers insurance denied my claim. Who is has right of wsy

Did you pay your TV license ?

I still have the option of claiming from my insurance. I have not had the NEED to claim before. We have been blessed not to have been in an accident. We have more than one vehicle , again blessed and they are all insured
Just remember a few things which could impact your possibility of claiming through your insurer:-
Your Subrogation rights for claim are handed to the insurer - you have already disrupted this.
The possibility of claiming after a claim has a time restriction to notify your insurer

You're a moron.
