It's working fine now for me as well.
 
Had a Problem on Sunday evening with the fibre dropping in and out. Neither Rocketnet nor Vumatel was reporting a problem. Left a message with Rocketnet but didn't receive any feedback from them. Had to wait it out.
 
Still happy in JHB. Got a 1080p clip running and it only needs to spike to 15mbps every now and then as it's got a minute buffered already.

is there a good website or speedtest to try or an application. to see if an 100mbit line is actually getting what its suppose to get.

Just run speedtests to Paris, Germany and then New york on speedtest.net

Most big downloads will just pull from a local cache
Although here is a AWS one for EU

I'm on a 1gig package.(not from Rocketnet) i figured i would see results that would be similar to at least a 200mbit link.. or higher.

What do people here have to say about the coming price increases from Rocknet for octotel-based packages? Has octotel increased their pricing for everyone? If so, I haven't heard anything about other ISPs intending to bump pricing in August? The 100/100 is going up by R130pm but the 200/200 is going down by R140pm.
 
Then those packages are going to be very close price wise? +- R 1125 vs R 1255? The 200 package seems to be a no brainer.

Yes, was thinking the same thing, but then my suspicious nature kicked in and wondered if that's some ploy to get more people on the 200 and then suddenly bump that price up too later on. Most other ISPs seen to run R200 higher for the 200 package.

I think you will find that we believe in providing long term price sustainability, so that we are able to continue to provide a great network with no throttling.
