Rocketnet - feedback?

once again it is the job of rocketnet to sort out this problem we are not paying vumatel every month they should have picked up on this problem on the 10th when it started and after the people started complaining but to let people pay for a 100/100 fiber line that only does 20% of the speed is a disgrace

funny just got a mail from them telling me the upgrades have been done but the pings are still way over 200 where it used to be 140-160 2 weeks ago and speeds are still far from what it used to be and it is not even peak time yet

I know that they have routed their traffic through JHB to provide a more constant latency. Latency should have only gone up by 20ms odd, but capacity was increased significantly.

Is it constant or all over the place?

yep latency is constant over 200 not worth it
why did it work properly before with no problems?
this is worse than adsl
looks more like they took from the upload bandwidth and added to the download as the upload is now crap as well

If its constant then its fine. ie 200,201,201,200,199.... not 200,240,300 etc.

can you tell me why it worked properly before the 10th as i cant seem to get an straight answer with a latency of 140 constant

No, it's not fine. Normal pings to UK are +- 143ms from CPT and about 230ms to USA.
Why must traffic first be routed to JHB and then come back down to exit the border and to go wherever?

It's like saying, your car was able to do 120km/h - 150km/h, but now it's on 80km/h but it's a solid 80km/h.

I'm sure it will be fixed, might be a temporary setup to try and isolate the slow evening speeds.

Here are two charts measuring Ping to two US based servers over the last 24 hours (one server is in North Virginia and the other in San Fransisco).

Packet loss was 0% over all time periods apart from at 10:37 AM today, when it was 100% (time in the chart is EST). I removed this data point from the chart as it distorted the numbers.

Noticed that as well, happened roundabout 7PM. You can see it on the graph in the post just before yours as well. It has been consistent in that range ever since

when will this be fixed?
this is really pathetic for a 100/100 fiber line and there is no eta when this will be fixed
as far as i am concerned this is either shaping or not enough bandwidth

Also seeing as the "noise" from other users seems to have died down one would think that the changes that were implemented has been largely successfull. Makes you wonder if it's not something else other than solely an ISP issue?
