Rocketnet - feedback?

We are performing an analysis on the impact of our speed for our customers, we don't contend or throttle services, and our goal right now is for all our customers to be able to consume the internet.

Being connected now is our duty to the country and we are here to make sure as many South Africans as possible can stay connected.

Is Rocketnet going to be part of the group of ISPs that are providing free internet upgrades for clients during the lockdown period? :)

Hi All

We have plenty of bandwidth available and even with the current spike since Friday, are only running at around 20% which means that we can most certainly participate.

We are concerned whether some FNO’s are able to handle this, that's usually where our issues lie, between the FNO and our network.

Thanks for clarifying. Vumatel seems to be able to handle it, so when will Rocketnet make a decision as to do this or not?

seems to be fake news

Kindly clarify what you are reffering to?
Your statements:
"We have plenty of bandwidth available and even with the current spike"
"we can most certainly participate"

No one at Rocketnet is able to give a definitive answer as to when the final decision will be taken whether to participate. Your statements are incongruent with Rocketnet's actions (the inability to give a clear answer), which led me to conclude the statements must be false.

Hi There

As CEO of RocketNet we are working together with the FNO’s and assess the impact it has on the FNO network, most speed issues stem from either inside the FNO network or the customers WiFi.

We will be informally rolling out these speed upgrades as the FNO rolls them out. To make sure that we assess and test and don't break anything we are conducting these upgrades in a phased approach. For now we are upgrading all 10 and 20 Mbps customers as most 100Mbps customers will not need additional bandwidth.

Then assess and continue, the approach is so that we dont have a catastrophic failure, that could bring everyones service down.

We are making sure we do things properly and are more concerned about keeping people connected and up and running.

Everyone is working from home and everyone deserves to be connected and online. We therefore prioritise that as No.1.

Hope this sheds more light

Thank you. I appreciate you taking the time to respond clearly

--------
10/2 bumped to 20/2

Thank you RocketNet!

actually this will be a good test to see if it will be worth it to upgrade our line to 200/200 after the lockdown
