This is the kind of food I love, but how overpriced are these places?
I could live off BBQ food, ribs, wings and burgers.

400g Ribs is R140 without any chips or sides?
And the taste is OK, but not exceptional.

At those prices I would rather go back to Spur.

Spur Birthday special - 300 gram Ribs with chips and Onion rings for R50
(24 to 26 October only).

Oh, and Boston Burger serves alcohol (also bloody expensive), but Rocomamas doesn't.

Usually when I take my kid to Spur I take my mom along and their pensioner pricing and portions are rather exceptional I must say.

Must have been non-alcoholic beer I was being served then, who knew...

Overpriced mediocre burgers

Check out the original Burger Bistro in Villeria, Pretoria

The beer selection at ours in PE is fairly substantial. Lots of craft beers included.

Yea I think CrazyLion is just confused is all. Or he had a special branch.

On the topic of the meals though, I wouldn't compare Spur food to RocoMamas, Rocos is WAAAAY better in my experience.

:wtf: for real??

I've seen some people say that Rocomamas aren't that great. I don't know where they've eaten because I love their burgers. The one here by us also serves craft beers.

It's possible that the branch I went to at Melrose Arch was Halaal, cos I noticed they didn't serve pork ribs either.

Beef ribs... what's the point. Might as well wash it down with a cup of decaf.

They're not. Don't get me wrong, they're definitely not bad but as far as I'm concerned the juice ≠ the squeeze.

I'm in the same boat, the one at Pineslopes is great, the one at Mall of Africa is also very good.

Could also be a matter of taste, much like pizza preferences. Rocomamas are very saucy which I love, but others may not.

Meh. Been there once for a way overpriced craft beer, saw the food prices, and left.

Not a fan of franchised restaurants anyway.

The nice thing about Rocomamas, and presumably Boston Burger, is you can leave there with your dignity intact.

If you eat at the Spur and you don't have kids... well, that's just weird.
